Today I'm here to recommend (if you haven't seen it) or remind you of one of the best Disney animated films. It came in second place on my top 5 favorites from this industry. Besides having a splendid soundtrack in many ways, with great meaning, it's a story that tells us that belonging goes far beyond the superficial. Being part of something doesn't mean being alike, but rather that everyone accepts each other without losing their essence. So, without further ado, here are my impressions.

Released in 1999, it was directed by Kevin Lima and Chris Buck. # Personal opinion

Just like with Brother Bear, Disney really used to bring stories that made a mark and addressed inclusion and acceptance in such an incredible and different way than what we see now. They resonated with you, and above all, the music was the perfect complement at every moment, because it's the most important element and gives the story a lot of weight—at least, that's how I feel. In short, Phil Collins does a fantastic job in this film, and he makes that very clear with the main songs, "Son of Man" and "You'll Be in My Heart"—wow, beautiful and incredibly memorable. They also narrate the events of the scene; there's no one singing anymore, as was often the case with Disney princess movies. Here, the music makes the story not a musical, but a lived experience; it becomes the guide of the emotion.

Regarding the animation, I must say it's quite appealing. Despite the era, the way the main character swung through the branches felt remarkably fluid. I think they played very well with the framing and the high-speed movement. The film handles the identity conflict very well; it's not just about "man vs. nature," but about "belonging." The relationship between Tarzan and Kerchak is the emotional core: a son's desire to be accepted by a father who is different from him. And Kala, oh my god, she's the best character. She's the perfect example that love knows no differences. In a world that seeks to categorize distinctions, she represents that we should focus more on our similarities, that true emotional connection is what ultimately brings us closer and closer.

I like that they balance the moments of tension with those of humor very well, because being a film for a children's audience, they had to handle those tones of death and tension quite subtly, and I feel they succeeded. What do you think?

Furthermore, the fact that he recorded it in several languages gave it enormous cultural value. - Character Design and Anatomy: Tarzan's animation is one of Disney's most complex. The study of muscles, weight, and animal movement translated to a human is evident. - Jane Porter, the human female character, who couldn't be overlooked: She is one of the most charismatic female protagonists of that era. This is a must-see movie from my childhood. I loved it so much that I later watched the series. Of course, it wasn't quite as amazing as the movie itself, but I found the whole story and the chemistry with the characters so much fun. And of course, the songs are a timeless legacy; they're still playing even after 27 years. I would recommend it because it's the perfect balance between a technical masterpiece and a story with a lot of heart.

Hoy vengo a traer como recomendación (sino lo han visto) o para recordarles de las mejores películas animadas de Disney, entre en segundo lugar en mi top 5 de mis favoritas de esta misma industria. Además de tener un soundtrack esplendido en muchos sentidos y con gran carga significativa, es una historia que nos habla de que, la pertenencia, va mucho más allá de lo superficial, pues el formar parte de algo no quiere decir que se asemejen, sino que todos se aceptan sin perder su esencia, así que sin más que agregar, aquí les dejo mis impresiones del mismo.

Estrenado en el año 1999, fue dirigida por Kevin Lima y Chris Buck, en el apartado de la música tenemos a Mark Mancina, quien fue el encargado de componer la música de fondo instrumental (la que suena durante las persecuciones, los momentos tristes o de tensión donde nadie canta) y Phil Collins, quien escribió la letra y la música de las 5 canciones principales, añadiendo que, no solo fue en la versión de inglés, también español, alemán, francés e italiano (un crack tengo que agregar). Este filme es de genero aventuras e infantil y a las voces que estuvieron a cargo a darle vida a los personajes fueron Tony Goldwyn, Minnie Driver, Glenn Close, Lance Henriksen, entre otros.

La historia comienza cuando una familia, una pareja y su bebé, náufraga en una selva y comienzan una vida ahí y paralelamente una familia de gorila, que pierde a su pequeño a causa de un tigre, mismo que termina atacando a la pareja. Kala, la gorila que acababa de perder a su cría, escucha el llanto del bebé humano y lo rescata, a pesar de la fuerte oposición de Kerchak, el líder de la manada, Kala decide criarlo como si fuera suyo y lo llama Tarzán.

A pesar de crecer bajo la mirada severa y desconfiada del líder de la manada, Kerchak, Tarzán se esfuerza por ser aceptado, desarrollando habilidades físicas extraordinarias para sobrevivir en un entorno donde es biológicamente el más débil. # Opinión personal

Así como con tierra de osos, Disney de verdad antes traía historias que marcaban y trataba la inclusión y la aceptación de una manera tan increíble y diferente a como se puede denotar ahora, aunado que te llegaban y, sobre todo, la música era el complemento perfecto en todo momento, porque es el punto más importante y que le da bastante peso a la historia, bueno, así lo siento yo. En definitiva, Phill Collins hace un trabajo super estupendo en este filme y lo deja muy en claro con las canciones principales, “Hijo de Hombre” y “En mi corazón vivirás” uffs, hermosas y sumamente memorables, además de que están narrando los acontecimientos de la escena puesta, ya no hay nadie cantando en si, como solía pasar en las princesas Disney, aquí la música hace que la historia no fuese un musical, sino un hecho vivido, se volvió la guía de la emoción.

En referencia a la animación, debo decir que es bastante atractiva, a pesar de la época, se sentía bastante fluido el cómo el personaje principal se balanceaba por las ramas y todo ello, para mi jugaron muy bien con los planos y el movimiento a grandes velocidades. La película maneja muy bien el conflicto de identidad, o se trata solo de "hombre vs. naturaleza", sino de "pertenencia". La relación entre Tarzán y Kerchak es el núcleo emocional: el deseo de un hijo de ser aceptado por un padre que no se parece a él y con Kala, por Dios, es el mejor personaje, es el ejemplo perfecto de que el amor no ve diferencias, pues en un mundo donde busca catalogar las distinciones, ella es la representación de que debemos enfocarnos más en los similares que llegamos a ser, de que la conexión emocional verdadera es lo que nos termina acercando más y más.

Me gusta que, equilibran los momentos de tensión con los de humor muy bien, pues al ser una película para un público infantil, debían manejar esos tonos de muerte y tensión bastante difuminados, y siento que lo lograron ¿qué opinan ustedes?

- Tengo entendido de que esta película fue una revolución visual, pues el uso del Deep Canvas permitió una sensación de profundidad y movimiento de cámara 3D que aún hoy se ve increíble. -Una historia con un mensaje bastante profundo, donde la identidad va mucho más de la apariencia, va de aceptarnos y aceptar al otro y enfocarnos en los que hacen verdaderamente iguales. - Banda Sonora Inmortal: Phil Collins no solo escribió hits, sino que creó una atmósfera emocional que conecta con el espectador de forma visceral. Además, el hecho de que él mismo grabara en varios idiomas le dio un valor cultural enorme. - Diseño de Personajes y Anatomía: La animación de Tarzán es una de las más complejas de Disney. Se nota el estudio de los músculos, el peso y el movimiento animal trasladado a un humano. - Jane Porter, el personaje femenino humano, quién no podía dejar resaltar: Es una de las protagonistas femeninas más carismáticas de esa era. - El Villano (Clayton): Comparado con villanos legendarios de Disney (como Scar, Jafar o Úrsula), Clayton es bastante genérico. Es una película imperdible de mi infancia, me encantó tanto que luego veía la serie, claro no fue tan increíble como la película en sí, pero me resultaba tan divertido toda la historia y la química con sus personajes. Por supuesto, las canciones son ese legado que no pasa de moda, sigue sonando aun luego de 27 años. Yo la recomendaría, porque es el equilibrio perfecto entre una obra de arte técnica y una historia con mucho corazón.
