Sunday ChitChat – Week 15 right in the middle of a big challenge

Hey sweaty folks,
What a gorgeous morning to chat about cycling and bikes, especially with Paris–Roubaix 2026 happening today. 😁
I’m writing this from Havana, Cuba at 11:18 pm on Saturday, while over in Compiègne, that Parisian suburb where the 258 km challenge kicks off, it’s already 5:18 am on Sunday.
The fans must be buzzing with nerves, right?
We’re about to witness a proper survival battle over dangerously uneven cobblestones, with Tadej Pogačar going all‑in to conquer the so‑called fifth Monument of cycling and join the elite club of Eddy Merckx, Rik Van Looy and Roger De Vlaeminck.
Pogačar has become the first cyclist in history to win four Classics in a row – Liège 2025, Lombardy 2025, San Remo 2026 and Flanders 2026.
Here on Hive we had a little gap in our Sunday Chit Chats, but I reckon that was just a short pause to gather strength… and what better boost than this, sweaty crew?
I’m jotting down bets 🤣 (drop your predictions in the comments) – just kidding.
Still, I found this compilation of POGAČAR’s 10 most brutal attacks – might be worth a watch.
No, I’m not biased towards the Slovenian, I’m just hyped to see this race live – and it looks like YouTube will stream it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRf9O8sjoVE
Since I’ll be crawling out of bed at 4:50 to catch the broadcast, I won’t do the usual round‑up of posts now. I just want to thank everyone who shows interest and puts effort into their publications. Our Community has been buzzing with activity and that feels brilliant – inspiring and beautiful.
So, let’s chat this week about this event.
Why is the favourite the favourite, in your view? What sets him apart from the rest? Do you love him, hate him, or couldn’t care less? Why do people say Pogačar has changed cycling forever?
The timer starts when this post goes live and stops next Saturday, so you’ve got time to watch, dig around, and link these events to your own. Let’s think, for instance, about themes like willpower and mindset – here are three starter questions:
- What advice would you give someone who wants to strengthen their willpower to start cycling?
- How does your mindset change when riding solo compared to riding in a group?
- What lesson about willpower and mindset has cycling given you that you apply in everyday life?
-- As you can see, I’ve left loads of questions… don’t be shy!
Remember to use the hashtag #SundayChitChat, and feel free to invite a friend to join in. That will help us connect with more people.
You can reply in the comments on this post or even write a whole post about it… it’s your choice. We’ll be waiting for you.
Catch you soon.
