Hello Hive friends and sewing enthusiasts! Today I want to show you how I made a dark-style ponytail, as I call it, because I made it with a scrap of black suede fabric. When I saw that fabric, I thought it would make a very original accessory, and best of all, it was handmade. The materials I used were:

I started by cutting the fabric as evenly as possible to form a long strip. This process is very simple, and I like it because we can do it ourselves. Then I proceeded to sew each side with a straight stitch.

After unpicking, I attached the elastic. The elastic I used was very thin. I tied a knot in the elastic to form a loop and then placed it in the middle of what would be the ponytail. In this step, I wanted to try a different way of sewing the ponytail. This method involves tucking the elastic inside the ponytail and then sewing the edge of the ponytail. However, the elastic kept slipping out, so I finished sewing the ponytail the way I normally do.

This is how it turned out when I sewed it the way I already knew how, but I really wanted to sew the ponytail another way, but I guess I should just practice how it's done 🤭

Once the ponytail part was ready, I proceeded to attach the elastic band with a hook, and finally I sewed the opening where I placed the band; the opening is barely visible and I liked that.
