Como bien dijera mi abuelita o un refran por ahi: Desde que el mundo es mundo han existido las motocicletas. Si son exageraciones porque sabemos bien que no fue asi, pero si existen desde hace muchos años asi lo encontre en la internet:

La historia de la motocicleta se remonta al siglo XIX cuando el estadunidense Sylvester Howard Roper (1823-1896) inventó un motor de cilindros a vapor (accionado por carbón) en 1867. Esta puede ser considerada la primera motocicleta, si se permite que la descripción de una motocicleta incluya un motor a vapor.

Pero si las recuerdo haberlas vistos en peliculas basadas en la segunda guerra mundial que los alemanas las usaban y unas muy curiosas que traian como un asiento extra al lado para otra persona.

Ya luego en mi realidad, de niña las veia pero eran eso si muy escasas y contadas, quien la tuviera era un lujo. Despues ya mas grande un hermano de una chica que nos cuidaba en casa tenia su moto, en la cual tuvo varios accidentes, recuerdo haberlo visto una vez que parecia una momia entre yesos y vendas, que luego murio, pero de una enfermedad y no por la moto.

Ya con el tiempo las motos solo se veian en personas que les decian mensajeros, yo los veia que ellos los choferes llegaban a los bancos a dejar papeles, como buscar otros, otros eran cobradores de servicios funerarios, de tiendas, equis.

Ademas hay un deporte que tiene que ver con motos, donde tambien ocurren accidentes.

Pero ya mas cerca de nuestra realidad actual, debido a la crisis economica que se vivio hace como 20 años, por lo de la gasolina tambien, esto genero, que un aumento masivo de ventas de motos de varias cilindradas, de motocicletas mas pequeñas, donde tanto hombre, mujeres, desde bien jovenes hasta bien adultos, se veian en las calles conduciendo sus motos.

Tambien genero empleos en los llamados Deliverys, personas que llevaban cualquier tipo de encomiendas a personas que solicitaban desde: restaurantes, farmacias, mercados, entre otros.

Pero tambien, ha habido un gran aumento de accidentes de transitos donde ellos han sido los principales en causarlos, como otros vehiculos les han chocado, atropellos a personas, una larga lista de casos, donde tambien han fallecidos muchas personas, según las estadisticas para no ir muy lejos en mi ciudad, Ciudad Bolivar, a diario se reportan como minimo, 3 a 4 accidentes donde todos tienen que ver con motos, con heridos y fallecidos, el 29 de marzo hubo 3 accidentes de motos y 3 fallecidos.

Como dije arriba el problema no es la moto, sino como la conducen, la manejan: a exceso de velocidad, en estado de ebriedad, exceso de personas que son para 2 personas y van hasta 4 a veces, tampoco cumplen con las reglas de llevar cascos, tanto el que maneja como los acompañantes.

Lo otro que he visto es que los padres mismos, les cumplen el antojo o capricho de regalarles moto a los hijos, en vez de regalarles una buena computadora que es una herramienta necesaria para sus estudios, o guiarlos para un emprendimiento.

El año pasado una chica le regalan una moto como regalo de sus 15 años, como que si no saben que es prohibido que los menores de edad tengan, anden y manejen motos, entonces la chica en su misma moto mientras repartia las invitaciones para su fiesta, tuvo un accidente y lamentablemente fallece, no se realizo la fiesta.

Tambien el año pasado se vio motos como regalo a los jovenes al graduarse de bachilleres, hubo uno solo que creo se viralizo, fue que a una chica que se graduo, le regalaron un Arpa y ella feliz con su regalo.

Asi que si saben, conocen de alguien con moto, mas si es en la familia, que conduzcan con prudencia, que respeten las leyes, que cuiden la vida de los demas, como la suya propia.

There’s also a sport involving motorcycles where accidents happen.

But closer to our current reality, due to the economic crisis we experienced about 20 years ago—also related to gasoline prices—this led to a massive increase in sales of motorcycles of various engine sizes, particularly smaller ones, where both men and women, from very young to well into adulthood, could be seen on the streets riding their motorcycles.

It also creates jobs in so-called delivery services, where people deliver all kinds of packages to customers who order from restaurants, pharmacies, markets, and other places.

However, there has also been a significant increase in traffic accidents where they have been the primary cause—such as collisions with other vehicles, people being run over, and a long list of other incidents—resulting in many fatalities. According to statistics, without going too far from my city, Ciudad Bolívar, at least 3 to 4 accidents are reported daily, all involving motorcycles, with injuries and fatalities. On March 29, there were 3 motorcycle accidents and 3 fatalities.

As I mentioned above, the problem isn’t the motorcycle itself, but how it’s driven: speeding, driving while intoxicated, overloading—these bikes are designed for two people but sometimes carry up to four—and neither the driver nor the passengers wear helmets.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that parents themselves indulge their children’s whims by giving them motorcycles as gifts, instead of giving them a good computer—which is a necessary tool for their studies—or guiding them toward starting a business.

Last year, a girl was given a motorcycle as a 15th birthday present—as if they didn’t know it’s illegal for minors to own, ride, or drive motorcycles. So, while she was riding that same motorcycle to deliver invitations for her party, she had an accident and, sadly, died; the party never took place.

Also last year, we saw motorcycles being given as gifts to young people upon graduating from high school. There was one instance that I think went viral: a girl who graduated was given an Arpa, and she was happy with her gift.

So if you know anyone who rides a motorcycle—especially if they’re family—make sure they drive safely, obey the laws, and value the lives of others as much as their own.
