A Peaceful Morning Trip at Ave Maria Shrine, Jordan PH

"The spiritual air of a temple on the mountain is more spiritual than the spiritual air of a temple in the city because spirituality sprang from the mystery of nature itself!" โ Goodreads
We recently made a trip to the Ave Maria Shrine, located on top of a hill in Jordan, Guimaras. It was a memorable experience filled with beautiful sights and a sense of calm.

Getting to the shrine was an adventure in itself. The path going up was quite rough and uneven. It takes a bit of effort to reach the top, but every step is worth it. Once you arrive, you are rewarded with a truly breathtaking view. From the hilltop, you can look out over the sparkling blue sea and catch a glimpse of the city in the distance.

The shrine itself is small and simple, but it is very special. It is a place where many devotees go to pray for blessings and seek guidance. Because the space is small, there is a patient line of people waiting for their turn to enter and offer their prayers. You can see how much this place means to everyone who visits, especially during Holy Week.

Since we visited during a very hot day, we were happy to find that the area is surrounded by tall, leafy trees. These trees provide wonderful, cool shade that really helps you beat the heat while waiting or walking around. The combination of the fresh breeze, the greenery, and the quiet atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to relax and reflect.
Behind the shrine were 2 grottos. On the right side is the St. Vincent Ferrer grotto, and on the left side is The Virgin Maria grotto.

Our visit to the Ave Maria Shrine was both tiring and peaceful. If you are ever in Guimaras and looking for a place to enjoy a beautiful view and a quiet moment of prayer, I highly recommend visiting the Ave Maria Shrine.
