The final day of maternity leave - back to work!

It's over boohoo
I have to get back in the grind of working again .. I so so sooo needed the past 11 weeks that I had left to get balanced a bit again. No, my health is not thriving yet, neither is my house fully in order, but we're making steps to get it done every day and at least not one day feels like a wasted one anymore.
I could have taken out the final maternity leave in a few blocks of several weeks but to me it made no sense because it's such a hastle to even get it requested and then approved (the wait takes until AFTER the day starts, which is nervewrecking as you are not allowed to work). I feared maybe they'd reject it for some admin reason and then I didn't work, but now it's all over and I can focus on getting stuff done for the business again.
The last 11 weeks have given me insights and clarity, even though some weeks have been extremely rough to get through. At least I have some good insights on what to focus on first, a win!
Baby growing fast!
He's such a little man already, he has character let me tell you that! And he laughs SO much, even when he's in pain from colic or too tired and can't fall asleep, he's so easily distracted with some funny noises or kisses or singing, what's not to love about this little guy? I mean, he's freaking adorable and even more so when the kids interact is melting my heart!
He's crazy about his sister and vice versa, he's trying to get her attention as soon as he notices she's in the room, even when she's trying to rest from a fever on the couch, he's calling her to get her attention and then greet her with the biggest smile. I love it!
He's a handfull
Although I tried some typing behind the computer already with him being awake, as he's like his elder siblings, not so nappy during the day, sigh. He's constantly drumming on my desk and keyboard, so hard to handle, especially when trying to focus.
I accepted the fact that I will have to work short periods throughout the day and evening to get my stuff done. Researching things can even be done on the sofa when I give him his bottle and he falls asleep, I have to get creative with an extremely curious child who does not want to miss a thing. But all the laughter and seeing him thrive makes up for all of it.
These first years fly by so fast anyway, I try to embrace it and enjoy it rather than getting frustrated about what I can't do and how I need to adapt. After all, life is short, as we learned last year, it can all be over in a heartbeat. You are being missed uncle @whywhy.
