It's been a few days since I've been all that active here on Hive. Odd how things happen in life, I didn't mean to really be away, just fate had it's own ideas as always! Saturday I ended up doing needed paperwork to finish up a contracting job I've been working on for some time, it felt great to get that out of my hair once and for all. Plus now I will finally get paid! Then Sunday rolled around and I was thinking about throwing together a post when my chest started hurting. It wasn't horrible pain, but I figured I had best get things checked out. I didn't want to spend Sunday evening dead after all...
After hours and hours of tests in the Emergency Room it was announced that I was healthy as a horse and they could find no reason for me to be in pain. While that is good news, I still walked out with the pain and will end up paying $100 copay for the visit. But the peace of mind of knowing I wasn't having a heart attack was well worth it. At any rate, I just took it easy the last couple of days, and now am trying to back into the swing of things!
As you all know I'm a guy who loves some nice silver, and saw this one some time ago but never got around to sharing it. There are sold out in the major silver sites, but on eBay they run around $75 and up, they are touted as playable. So you can use a solid silver guitar pick on your favorite electric guitar!
From APMEX.com
Aerosmith celebrated their 50th year as a band back in 2023 and the island nation of Niue produced a commemorative coin guitar pick just for the the occasion. Only 500 were made of sterling silver (.925 pure) and weighed in at 10 grams, so very expensive for the silver content. But still pretty awesome! I still don't think I would pay that much to own one, I would need a much better deal before I were to pick one up. But I really do like the silver collectible guitar picks out there for sale, I don't have any so far. Maybe I'll find the right deal one of these days.
Since it is Tuesday it's time for another Three Tune Tuesday. But first off, I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze .
Run-DMC/ Aerosmith
Aerosmith got their start in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. This hard rock band had a string of hits throughout the 1970's and were one of the top bands of the decade. Their career began to decline in the early 1980's, but fortunately was revived by an unlikely collaboration with the band Run-DMC in 1986. Run-DMC was a hip-hop/ rap band formed in Queens, New York back in 1983 and went on to become one of the most successful bands of the decade. Ironically, it was this collaboration of "Walk This Way" that really made me a fan of Aerosmith in the first place. I recall seeing this video on MTV over and over, it was hilarious! Here's "Walk This Way":

Volbeat
This Danish hard rock/heavy metal band is one of my favorites. I first heard their song "Lola Montez" on the radio in El Paso, Texas back in 2013. I've never grown tired of hearing that song, if you haven't heard it definitely look it up. It's a great song! It came off their album Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies written entirely about the old west in the United States. The last thing you would expect from a Danish heavy metal band, but it's an amazing masterpiece. One of my other favorite songs off the album is dedicated to one of my favorite figures from the Wild West, Doc Holliday. Val Kilmer put on an amazing performance of the man in the film Tombstone, well worth checking out as well. Here's "Doc Holliday" played live:

The Offspring
This band from Garden Grove, California (not far from where I live) became superstars upon the release of their album Smash on April 8, 1994. My good friend @geneeverett dedicated a post to the 32nd anniversary of it's release! Although they did produce some great music prior to this album, this was the one that put them on the map. One of their biggest hits off of the album was this one, "Self Esteem":

That will wrap up this edition of Three Tune Tuesday, I hope you enjoyed the random selections of the day. Sometimes it's fun to mix things up a bit! I hope you're all having a great week so far, and please feel free to leave any comments or questions below. As always, thank you for all of your support, it is greatly appreciated!
