Happy Easter, guys! we had this holiday yesterday, and it was special for me because I was preparing for it by myself totally. As a rule we bought some Easter cakes but this year I decided to have a challenge and cooked them by myself. New experience for me, and I doubted if I could make good dough, but I succeed! The recipe I had found some days before the holiday, was really fast, nice and good, and I managed to cook super tasty Easter cakes!
and

and eggs, of course;) This time I tried natural colours and didn't buy any market dyes for colouring. Again challenge for me, but it was lucky too;)

Unusual colour, right? Guess, what natutal dye I used to get such deep blue color?
How do you celebrate Easter? Most people here go to the church but not all.
Btw, do you notice "Easter" has "east" inside, so the holiday went from the east for sure. And if we look deeper into the history, what can we see? There are some holiday's root that go much deeper its religious meaning.
Easter's main connections with paganism:
The symbolism of eggs and baking: Dyeing eggs (a symbol of life) and baking Easter cakes (a phallic symbol of fertility) were common among pagans long before Christianity. Spring cycle: Easter coincides with the ancient festivals of spring, the victory of light over darkness, celebrated by the Slavs and Germanic peoples.
What do you think of it?
