New Contest on Sportsblock - Higher or Lower!

No sooner does IPL Boundary Blackjack and the Masters contests finish than we're coming at you with more great contests for sports fans to get into.

Sportsblock HQ is a little bit like the clip below from the Office. Just a bunch of mavericks sitting around in Sergio Georgini boots and devising competitions based on things we've seen on the tellie box.
If you've got ideas for other contests we could be running in any sport then let @blanchy know.

This particular one is very much like the 1980s/90s Bruce Forysth game 'Play Your Cards Rights' where contestants had to guess whether the next turn of a card would be higher or lower than the previous one. Here's Gary & Tracy showing you how not to play it.

The twist for this contest is of course that you won't just be basing your guesses on the luck of the draw, you'll need to use your footballing knowledge to establish whether a set of 5 matches played on a specific day will produce a higher or lower number of goals than the 5 matches played the day before.
Simple!

The matches in question will be spread across major leagues from Europe and perhaps, as we get into it, from further a field too.
All 5 matches take place on the same day but of course you'll need to get your guess in (higher or lower) by the deadline, which will be the to bekick-off of the earliest game in the set of 5 fixtures.
To give everyone a fair chance of getting their predictions in, we're going to be using games that kick-off between about 3pm and 8pm (BST) everyday so that should give you a decent window of opportunity to make your daily selections.
This is a pay to play contest!
It's 100 MEDALS to enter and then contests have the option to buy back in for the cost of another 100 MEDALS if they are eliminated. Buy backs are limited to 2 times so in essence you've got 3 lives, if you choose to buy back in.
The prize fund is made up of the entry fee and any buy backs, so the more people that play, the higher the prize at the end!
The remaining rules are aptly described within the contest itself (see below)

Round 1 - Saturday 18 April
To start off with our base number of goals is 10.
So for round 1, you'll be guessing whether the fixtures below in total are going to produce higher or lower than 10 goals.
In subsequent rounds, you'll be guessing against the set of 5 matches from the day before.

Here are those fixtures...
Leeds v Wolves
A massive win for Leeds on Monday night has taken them 6 points clear of relegation. Another victory here wouldn't quite make them 'safe' but it'd mean they are breathing much easier than any of the 5 teams immediately below them.
By contrast, Wolves slim hopes of the great escape have surely been extinguished by the 4-0 drumming they got at West Ham last week. They weren't actually that bad but once the Hammers had taken the lead it seemed only a matter of time before they'd score again.
I'd expect Elland Road will be pumping for this one especially following the victory over United on Monday night.
Under/over odds Under 2.5 goals - 1.91 Over 2.5 goals - 1.85

Eintracht Frankfurt v RB Leipzig
The Bundesliga is always good for goals, right?
This is 7th versus 4th in the hunt for European places but more than that it's 2 teams who like to score goals.
Frankfurt have scored 54 of them in the Bundesliga so far this season from an xG of 43. Only Bayern Munich have a better conversation rate. Meanwhile, Leipzig have the 2nd best xG of 63 (again behind Bayern). It suggests we should see plenty of chances and hopefully plenty of goals! Certainly that's what the bookies feel too...
Under/over odds Under 2.5 goals - 2.62 Over 2.5 goals - 1.44
Over 2.5 goals in last 5 games

Napoli v Lazio
Napoli have just come off the back of a frustrating 1-0 defeat at Fiorentina that looks to have scuppered their chances of the Scudetto (beautiful alliteration if I do say so myself) .
Lazio by contrast are as mid-table as you can get. Won 11, Drawn 11, Lost 10, GF 32, GA 30.
Their interest lies solely in the cup with the 2nd leg of their match against Atalanta to follow this game on Wednesday. It suggests they might field a weakened team in this one and give a shot shy Napoli team a chance of an easier victory than the bookies are predicting.
Under/over odds Under 2.5 goals - 1.67 Over 2.5 goals - 2.15
Over 2.5 goals in last 5 games

Lorient v Marseille
Another mid-table side hosting a team looking to secure European qualification.
I guess at this stage of the season, you never know what you're gonna get with teams who have nothing to play for. They might already be on their summer holidays (figuratively speaking) or they might just come out swinging with very little to lose.
Marseille by contrast have it all to play for. Currently 4th they'll want to secure Champions League football for next season. They are the league's top scorers with 58 goals this season and they aren't exactly water tight at the back.
Under/over odds Under 2.5 goals - 2.15 Over 2.5 goals - 1.70
Over 2.5 goals in last 5 games

Gençlerbirliği v Galatasaray
There's a bonus prize for this match of 5 MEDALS for anyone who can correctly pronounce the name of the home team.
This is a classic spring fixture between a side fighting relegation and one chasing the title.
Gala dropped points away at Trabzonspor earlier in the month to throw the title race wide open. Another slip up here could see Fenerbahçe jump ahead of them.
However, they are up against opposition in Gençlerbirliği who have lost their last 4 and who haven't scored a league goal in their last 7 games! I'd suggest checking out the odds on a win to nil and BTTS markets on this one!
Under/over odds Under 2.5 goals - 2.20 Over 2.5 goals - 1.61
Over 2.5 goals in last 5 games
