2 days and 2 last balls finishes. Can we get 3 squeaky bums in a row?
Today's match sees 2 of the early pace setters Rajasthan Royals and RCB go head to head both with 100% records in IPL 2026. Someone will be leaving without that this evening...

The vagaries of the fixture list mean that this is just RCB's 3rd game of the tournament despite the fact that the defenders champions kicked-off proceedings a fortnight ago. Does that relative lack of cricket impact their chances against an RR side that has played 3 won 3 in the last 11 days?
Batting wise, the Rajasthan top 3 continue to look in fine form. At least 1 of them has come off in every game so far this season and usually to devastating effect.

On the other side, you've got RCB's seamers who have taken 3 wickets in the powerplay in both games so far.
It's a similar situation for RCB with their top order all having made runs coming into a contest with the Royal's seamers who have looked particularly effective on this wicket in Guwahati.
They had Mumbai 3 down in a shortened powerplay here last time out while CSK were 4 down.
It seems obvious to say then that the powerplay is going to crucial! On both sides it feels like a case of unstoppable force meeting immovable object and something will have to give.
Where RCB have a clear advantage is that their middle come into this match with form too. Patidar at number 4 has looked in supreme touch while Tim David's exploits against CSK took his from a good score to an insurmountable one.

RR don't have that luxury. They may have played a game more than their rivals tonight but both matches here at Guwahati last 12 and 11 overs respectively so we've yet to really see whether they have the strength and depth in their middle and lower to rebuild if and when they lose early wickets.
On the RCB front, the biggest question mark is over their defensive capabilities with the ball. They've out smashed their opponents in 2 home games at a venue where it's difficult if not impossible to really defend.
This is their first away trip and potentially a different type of challenge for their bowling unit. Based on what we've seen here to date, you'd expect the likes of Duffy and Bhuvi to enjoy the new ball on this surface. If they are taken apart for Rajasthan's 2 lefties at the top of the order then what's plan B?

It's still very early days in the tournament and as you can tell from the blog above, there are a lot of questions still to be answered!
IPL Boundary Blackjack Round 3
It feels like after 2 rounds of IPL Boundary Blackjack, people are starting to get a hang of the predictions.
No one went bust in match 1 of round 3 although it was a close call for the top 2 who were indebted to Choudhary's miracle innings at the end to get them over the line.
Today's game could be tough to call on many accounts and there are a few thunder storms rolling around the Assam region still which are worth keeping an eye on ahead of this game starting.
