Esta hermosa Plaza lleva por nombre, Plaza Sucre de Cagua, fue fundada el 29 de noviembre de 1620, es una plaza que ha visto pasar miles de personas y que aún sigue de pie, tuvo una renovación en el año 83, es una plaza muy hermosa grande y amplia, he venido a esta plaza en fechas decembrinas donde la decoran de manera hermosa y se pueden ver las luces por todos lados, en el día y en estas fechas es otra cosa muy distinta, se ve grande y espaciosa. Esta es la plaza principal de Cagua, esta ubicada en todo el centro de la ciudad, y quedan muy cerca de ella Turmero, sin embargo creo que la de Turmerl es un poco más grande que está , esta rodeada de lindos jardines a los lados, aquí pude notar muchas personas de la alcaldía que están trabando allí en las áreas para sus limpieza y vi la plaza muy limpia.

En el centro de la plaza hay una estatua de Simón Bolívar que fue inaugurada el 26 de enero de 1984, anteriormente estaba otra estatua del mariscal Sucre sin embargo esta fue quitada, el espacio central es grande y el suelo es de mármol, hay varios como salidas de la pla,a donde hay pequeños pasillos y asientos de piedra, además a los lados tiene co.o pequeñas paredes para sentarse. Los pequeños jardines hay palmeras, árboles grandes como mangos, samán, mamón, y claro plantas pequeñas, pero los grandes están lmo alrededor para hacer sombra sobre las bancas y algunos espacios, lo que hace la plaza muy fresca y cómoda para pasar un buen rato, de hecho nos sentamos en las bancas de cemento las cuales rstan miy bien deciradas con piedras de arrocillo y hasta lindas ceramicas como azulejos.

A un lado esta la iglesia San José de Cagua la cual fue fundada en 1989, una iglesia de larga trayectoria, también llamada santuario Diocesano San José de Cagua, me gusto mucho como estaba pintada, ese amarillo tostado llama mucho la atención, también al otro lado está ubicado el palacio de gobierno la alcaldía del municipio y al otro lado la policía municipal, todo tiene una vista colonial lo que llama mucho la atención y pareciera que estábamos en un pueblo con mucha historia y hermosos parajes. AlRededor de la plaza hay muchos locales comerciales y hasta un pequeño centro comercial y muy cerca existe otro, también está cerca la casa de la cultura, panaderías, entre otros, es una plaza hermosa que vale la pena visitar por ello la recomiendo amplia.
