Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new day in my life. This time, it’s about a new day in the classroom. Starting now (as I mentioned in previous posts), I’ve decided to dedicate Mondays to reinforcing drawing skills and Wednesdays to reinforcing painting techniques. All of this is intended to help the students improve in certain areas where they need it and finish the year with much better-executed techniques. And if we have time, maybe we can explore some additional techniques—including graphic arts. There are some techniques I know they might enjoy, so I hope we can build on the basics and assess whether we’re truly ready to take that next step.

Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por acá para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión se trata sobre un nuevo día en el aula de clase. A partir de este momento (como había comentado en anteriores publicaciones), decidí que tomaría los días lunes para reforzar lo que es el dibujo y los días miércoles para reforzar las técnicas pictóricas. Todo esto con la intención de lograr que los chicos mejoren en algunos aspectos que necesitan y puedan acabar el año con técnicas mucho mejor ejecutadas. Y de darnos tiempo, quizás podemos ver algunas técnicas más.. incluso artes gráficas. Hay algunas técnicas que se que pueden llegar a gustarles así que espero que podamos avanzar (en lo básico) y evaluar si realmente podemos dar ese paso.

At this point in the year, we’re learning about living subjects: animals, insects, humans, and even plants. This was also part of a request they made themselves when we started the school year. They’ve worked enough with inanimate objects when we do still lifes, so it’s good to finally introduce this. It helps with understanding shapes, spaces, order (composition), and applying the basics. Although they had already been working with references of this type (animals and people), I feel it was necessary to explain a few points about it, and also very importantly: some drawings/paintings were based on cartoons or anime.

I don’t forbid them from doing that (drawing/painting cartoons or anime) because I believe there should also be some flexibility and creative freedom, however, at a certain point, I do care that they use the class to focus on drawing things from a more “real,” academic perspective, since it is the ideal place for them to challenge themselves (intellectually) and be guided/corrected as needed. I want them to be the ones who give their own character to things… That is what makes an artist. For example, I want one of them to create a character, a cartoon, or an anime all on their own. But to create, you also have to learn to start from scratch and gradually build your way toward becoming a good artist. Without further ado, I’ll leave you with the little birds drawn by each of the children. They turned out beautifully, and each child gave their own bird a unique personality. Hugs. Para este momento del año estamos aprendiendo sobre figuras vivas; animales, insectos, seres humanos, incluso flora. Esto también como parte de una petición de ellos mismos cuando comenzamos el año escolar. Ellos han trabajado lo suficiente con objetos inanimados cuando hacemos bodegones o naturaleza muerta, así que es bueno poder introducir esto finalmente. Eso ayuda a un entendimiento de las formas, los espacios, el orden (composición) y a aplicar lo básico. Aunque ellos ya habían trabajando con referencias de este estilo (animales y personas), siento que hizo falta explicar algunos puntos sobre ello y también muy importante: algunos dibujos/pinturas fueron hechos a partir caritativas o animes.

Yo no tengo prohibido que ellos hagan eso (dibujar/pintar caricaturas o animes) pues considero que también debe haber cierta flexibilidad y libertad creativa, sin embargo, en cierto punto si me importa que aprovechen la clase para dedicarse a dibujar las cosas desde una perspectiva más "real", académica, ya que es el lugar ideal para que ellos se desafíen (intelectualmente) y puedan ser guiados/corregidos según sea necesario. Deseo que ellos sean quienes le otorguen su propio carácter a las cosas... Eso hace un artista. Por ejemplo, que uno de ellos cree por si mismo un personaje, una caricatura o un anime. Pero para crear, también hay que aprender a hacer desde cero y construir poco a poco ese camino del buen artista. Sin más que decir, los dejo con los pajaritos de cada uno de los niños. Les quedó precioso y cada uno le otorgó su propia personalidad al mismo. Un abrazo. Feliz fin de semana.
