Description from Strava:
I was on a work trip this week, so missed some running. I got back just in time to get to the pub music session with my ukulele so I could play a couple of songs. Then today I needed to get to the surgery for a routine blood test. As I did not have the car I decided to combine that trip with a run. The surgery is over in Stotfold, so it would take a while if I were walking, even with the new road reducing the distance.
I was trying to make this an 'easy' run with a lower heart rate, but then I also needed to get there one time. I took the shortest route that means running across a field that was a bit uneven, but not muddy. I managed to get there just on time and did not have to wait long to see the nurse who took a couple of phials of blood. So I was soon setting off back home.
I tried to go slow, but my heart rate was still about 10bpm higher than it should be for zone 2. I will keep working on that. A lot of the verges are full of yellow cowslips that seem to be doing really well this year. You also see the odd oilseed rape plant that has spread from the fields. There is a lot of that grown around here as it is used for the oil and animal feed and the yellow fields are a familiar sight. It may cause hayfever issues for some people, but I have not been affected so far this year.
Coming back through Arlesey I passed a house where I saw various emergency vehicles on Monday. I assume there had been a fire and some windows were boarded up. A few months ago there was another fire just across the road from this one.
I do not usually run at this time of day, but I have to fit it in where I can. I took a shower just before lunch.
Although it is a bit overcast we are getting some nice solar power today and have been exporting enough to cover all our energy costs.
Have fun and run free!
