Living My Summer Dream in Indonesia

Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve always loved summer, especially the pool and swimming. Last Saturday, I spent time with my girlfriend swimming and enjoying the lovely pool, which always excites me and makes me feel like a kid again. For some reason, swimming pools always have a magical way of cheering me up and making me feel alive again. Especially if the place is nice and fun. Actually, we’d planned this swim since last week, but it got canceled because of rain and unpredictable weather, especially on the weekend. I thought about moving it to a weekday a few times, but it didn’t seem possible because of how busy work has been these past few weeks.
So, we finally decided to go to the pool on Saturday morning before the rain came. We chose a pool connected to a hotel because they’re usually clean and not too crowded. Plus, they provide towels, drinks, and snacks, so we didn’t have to bother bringing or buying anything. We tried the pool at Sawah Tamanan Village, which happens to be close to my dorm. The facilities offered there are also quite attractive and comprehensive.
We arrived in the morning, around 9:30 AM. The place was fairly quiet, likely because it’s a bit far from the center of Yogyakarta and is located in the Bantul area of Yogyakarta, even though it’s quite close to the southern ring road. After paying an entrance fee of around 85,000 rupiah, we were directed to the swimming pool located at the back of the accommodation. The accommodation itself is quite lush and green, consisting of three floors.

To my surprise, there was a tropical and beautiful swimming pool in the back, filled with flowers and greenery that made it even more tropical and beautiful. Beside the pool, there were gorgeous tropical flowers, along with lush green grass and a willow tree that provided plenty of shade.
After taking plenty of photos of the surroundings and warming up, I finally decided to go for a swim and enjoy the pool. The pool itself isn’t very large, but it was satisfying because the water was clean and not over-chlorinated, so my eyes didn’t get red and the water didn’t feel too sticky on my skin. One of the reasons I really love swimming pools is that you can swim leisurely while washing away all your stress, and besides, you can think more clearly when you’re in the water. In the water, everything feels calm and flows, and you can only hear the sound of your own breath underwater. You can even meditate, or at least it feels like it, because I feel like many people breathe too quickly and often aren’t mindful at all while breathing, so their minds feel like they have to stay on high alert and vigilant.

After spending about two hours enjoying the pool, taking photos, and chatting cheerfully in the water, we decided to wrap up our summer activities. We rinsed off and interestingly, the rinse area here is outdoors, so i just used that soap then changed clothes and headed out. It was a delightful experience, and I’m also grateful to my boyfriend for happily joining me on this swimming outing.
Thanks :)
