Maui Blowhole and Other Stuff

One of the fun places we visited recently in Maui was a Blowhole Park. As you can see from the picture above it is parking and walking at your own risk.
The walking is easy to understand why it is at your own risk. The walk is really steep and you have a risk of slipping as you are basically climbing down the rocks on your way down and climbing up the rocks on your way up. The risk of slipping and falling is real.

In fact I saw a teenage boy slipping and falling on the way up. He could have fell further and could have been seriously hurt if another hiker didn't help him.
All of us made it all the way down to the blowhole without falling. We didn't wear socks so we got some blisters.

There were also cases of people approaching the Blowhole too close and being pulled into the hole and nobody ever made it out of it.
So we were careful not to approach too close. The parking risk is probably a risk of break-ins. The place is remote with lots of tourists and even vendors right there. The parking is paid scan to pay and was around twenty dollars.

Like many places in Maui they really try to maximize the government revenue from the tourists. The beach parking in Napili used to be free two years ago and is now forty dollars.
I did my research and parked at the nearby tennis court for only ten dollars plus tax.

Today I was able to get over twelve thousand steps mostly running around the house while I was finishing up the taxes and doing other chores.
We had New York steaks today. I grilled them on our grill and my wife made really good mashed potatoes, even our daughter commented how good the mashed potatoes were.

Less than two days left in Splinterlands season and competition is harder than it was just a few days ago, so my rating is down almost four hundred points from the highest rating this season.
I decided to advance to the champion league this season so I am hoping that the brackets are going to be implemented next season, though I have not seen the official announcement on it yet.

Tomorrow I have another work from home day and then it is two days in the office. Very intense schedule this week with taxes, work and other stuff.
I am going to be driving our daughter to school and back tomorrow as my wife has even more intense schedule with something like six meetings tomorrow. Today I drove our daughter to school in the morning and she picked her up after school.
