El día de hoy les traigo una manualidad súper improvisada, literal no lo tenía planeado,pero de repente me dieron ganas de intentar hacerla a ver cómo quedaba, todo comenzó porque últimamente el algoritmo de Instagram a estado enviandome videos de manualidades con flores secas, específicamente separadores de página y me he quedado fascinada con lo hermosos que quedan y lo hermosas que se ven las flores secas, así que me dispuse con muy poca experiencia a secar mis propias flores con la clásica herramienta, un libro. 📕
Today I’m sharing a super impromptu craft project with you—I really hadn’t planned it at all, but I suddenly felt like giving it a try to see how it would turn out. It all started because lately Instagram’s algorithm has been showing me videos of crafts made with dried flowers, specifically bookmarks, and I’ve been fascinated by how beautiful they look and how gorgeous the dried flowers are, so, with very little experience, I set out to dry my own flowers using the classic tool: a book. 📕
Me resulta muy chistoso porque realmente ese día iba a hacer unos stickers que compartiré con ustedes Dios mediante, ya había terminado de dibujar cada figura y de recortar, incluso había puesto la primera capa de cinta adhesiva en el papel encerado, pero me di cuenta de que los dibujos estaban todos ondulados y eso me iba a dificultar hacer los stickers, así que dije bueno voy a buscar un libro pesado para meter los dibujos y aplanarlos un poco y justo en ese momento veo las flores que había puesto a secar hace unos días y como ya tenía el material para hacer los stickers listo, pues decidí experimentar un poco, así que sin más preámbulo los dejo con la lista de materiales y el paso a paso de esta imprvisada e inesperada pero hermosa manualidad. 🥰🤭
I find it really funny because that day I was actually going to make some stickers that I’ll share with you, God willing. I had already finished drawing and cutting out each shape, and I’d even put the first layer of tape on the wax paper, but I realized the drawings were all wavy, and that was going to make it hard to make the stickers, so I said, “Okay, I’ll find a heavy book to weigh down the drawings and flatten them a bit.” And just then, I saw the flowers I’d set out to dry a few days ago. Since I already had all the materials for the stickers ready, I decided to experiment a little. So, without further ado, here’s the list of materials and the step-by-step guide for this impromptu, unexpected, but beautiful craft. 🥰🤭
- Flores secas.
- Papel encerado.
- Cinta adhesiva.
- Tijeras.
- Dried flowers.
- Wax paper.
- Masking tape.
- Scissors.
Para esta manualidad obviamente hay que poner a secar flores naturales, no tengo fotos de ese paso porque como les comenté en la introducción las flores que usé para esta manualidad las había puesto a secar hace días solo como prueba así que no se me ocurrió sacarle fotos, más adelante cuando aprenda bien cuál es el mejor método para secarlas entonces lo compartiré.
For this craft project, you obviously need to dry some fresh flowers. I don’t have any photos of that step because, as I mentioned in the introduction, I had already dried the flowers I used for this project a few days ago just as a test, so it didn’t occur to me to take pictures of it. Later on, once I’ve figured out the best method for drying them, I’ll share it.
Lo primero que hice fue poner una capa de cinta adhesiva en el papel encerado, siento que tenerlo listo y haber encontrado las flores secas por casualidad fue genial ya que gracias a eso se me ocurrió experimentar. 🥰
The first thing I did was apply a layer of masking tape to the wax paper. I’m so glad I had it ready and happened to find the dried flowers by chance—it really inspired me to experiment. 🥰
Luego coloque las flores secas encima sin ningún orden en específico, solo intenté dejar una distancia prudente entre una y otra para poder dejar un contorno al recortar.
Then arrange the dried flowers on top in no particular order; I just tried to leave a reasonable amount of space between them so I could cut out an outline.
El siguiente paso fue colocar la otra capa de cinta adhesiva por encima. Siento que por la emoción de ver el resultado final hice todo muy rápido y no quedó tan estético, debí ser más delicada al poner la cinta adhesiva encima de las flores. Por eso siento que está es una manualidad que tengo que mejorar más adelante.
The next step was to place the other layer of tape on top. I think that, in my excitement to see the final result, I rushed through it and it didn't turn out as neat as I'd hoped; I should have been more careful when placing the tape over the flowers. That's why I feel this is a craft project I need to work on improving in the future.
Por último recorte cada sticker dejando un contorno, aunque repito tenía tanta prisa por ver cómo quedaba que recorte bastante feo la verdad 😆🤭 cuando haga más en el futuro procuraré que queden más estéticos, con una formas más bonita.
Finally, I cut out each sticker along the outline, though I have to admit I was in such a hurry to see how they’d turn out that I cut them out pretty poorly, to be honest 😆🤭. When I make more in the future, I’ll try to make them look nicer, with neater shapes.
Por último quiero mostrarles como es el proceso para pegarlos, es súper fácil solo debes despegar la cinta adhesiva del papel encerado como se ve en la imagen.
Finally, I want to show you how to stick them on. It’s super easy—just peel the adhesive tape off the wax paper, as shown in the picture.
Lo que me gusta de esta técnica es que la primera capa de adhesivo que se pone en el papel encerado es lo que va a permitir que el sticker se pueda pegar a cualquier superficie, a diferencia de otros stickers caseros donde la única parte que tiene pega es la parte del contorno del sticker y el resto crece de adhesivo, como pueden ver en esta imagen esa cara que les muestro del sticker es la parte con pegamento del adhesivo, se nota porque es bastante opaca, o sea, no tiene nada de brillo.
What I like about this technique is that the first layer of adhesive applied to the wax paper is what allows the sticker to stick to any surface, unlike other homemade stickers where the only part with adhesive is the outline of the sticker and the rest is made of adhesive. As you can see in this image, the side of the sticker I’m showing you is the part with the adhesive, You can tell because it’s quite opaque—in other words, it has no shine at all.
Y está es la parte del frente del sticker, como pueden ver ese lado es brillante en comparación con el lado que posee el adhesivo (no sé si me doy a entender, a veces me enredo un poco al tratar de explicar ciertas cosas)🤭
And this is the front side of the sticker. As you can see, that side is shiny compared to the side with the adhesive (I hope that makes sense—sometimes I get a little confused when trying to explain certain things)🤭
Y para ver qué tan bien quedó decidí hacer la prueba pegando el sticker en mi puerta 🚪 luego me di cuenta que fue una mala elección, hubiese sido mejor pegarlo en algún cuaderno 📓 pero en ese momento no se me ocurrió 🤣 a pesar de todo ame el resultado y quiero intentar mejorarlo y hacerlo con más calma, paciencia y delicadeza. 🥰❤️
And to see how well it turned out, I decided to test it by sticking the sticker on my door 🚪. Then I realized that was a bad choice—it would have been better to stick it on a notebook 📓—but it didn't occur to me at the time 🤣. Despite everything, I loved the result, and I want to try to improve it and do it with more calm, patience, and care. 🥰❤️
