No Luck with Gold, But Still Profitable?

Hello Splinterlands warriors, how are you feeling after the last season ended? As for me, I’m still in that classic phase: somewhere between satisfied, exhausted, and curious about the “harvest” I’ve gathered.
Last season, I finished in the top 100 leaderboard, exactly at position 90. Not a rank that makes me boastful, but enough to warm the heart—and of course, the Glint bonus helped warm things up too.

From the entire season’s grind, I managed to collect 51,742 Glint, plus a 3,125 Glint leaderboard bonus. Combined with my previous balance, the total nearly reached 103k Glint.
And as usual, the classic question appeared: “Where should I spend this Glint?”
Opening Rare Draw: A Calm Expectation
I decided to start with the Rare Draw. With a cost of 1,500 Glint per draw, I opened a total of 60 cards.

There was a small hope at the time—maybe a gold card would quietly appear among the regular ones. But well… reality can be simpler.
Out of those 60 cards, not a single gold card appeared.
At first, it felt a bit underwhelming. But after taking a closer look, I realized something more important: the amount of BCX accumulated.

Some cards that I managed to level up:
- GROVE DOOMBLADE
- SWAMPWROUGHT
- PIXIE KNIFE HURLER
- careless badger
Among them, the most interesting for me is PIXIE KNIFE HURLER, because it gained a new skill after the upgrade.

A card that used to feel ordinary suddenly has a clearer role in my strategy.

Moving to Common Draw: The Important Complement
After the Rare Draw, I still had around 12k Glint left. Instead of saving it, I continued with the Common Draw.
The result? Pretty much the same: no gold cards.

I only opened about 43 cards, and that amount wasn’t enough to significantly level up cards right away. But that doesn’t mean it was useless. In fact, some cards started getting closer to the BCX required for the next upgrade.
Progress doesn’t always feel immediate. But little by little, cards that were “just one or two copies short” are now approaching their level-up point. And that’s where the real strength of a collection begins to take shape.
Closing
So, that’s my story this time—spending Glint on Rare and Common Draws. No explosive results, but still meaningful progress.
The strategy going forward is quite clear: keep farming Glint in the next season, focus on completing BCX for cards that are close to upgrading, and maybe try my luck again in future draws.
Because in Splinterlands, the ones who win aren’t always the luckiest… but those who patiently build their strength, step by step.
And this time, I feel like I’m on that path. ⚔️
