AROUND ACEH TENGAH // Capturing the natural panorama on the roadside and the beauty that has been lost

In this post I will share my experience while traveling around Aceh Tengah,precisely around the center of Takengon city, this trip succeeded in giving me a lot of experience and meaning of life, starting from what I can see and what I can feel, meeting many new people is one of the things that will push our lives to be more advanced, the experience is sought not come by itself, and now I will summarize my experience starting from passing the Bireuen -Tekengon crossroad first.

Again and again I have to stop because of traffic jams, of course this traffic jam is caused by natural disasters that occurred in Aceh 4 months ago namely floods and landslides, in front of me there are two temporary bridges that have just been built, of course this bridge is very important because it is the only route between Bireuen-Takengon. From the highway this view looks ordinary and is considered normal, but it is different after I stop and see the view under this bridge.

At that time I also took the time to stop for a moment around the bridge area, there were also many local residents who were willing to volunteer to regulate traffic during the traffic jam, with full curiosity, I started to approach one of the residents and asked about the incident, but the resident immediately asked me to see the view under the bridge first, only then would he give an answer.

This is a sight that really surprised me, where previously this was a river that was very small in size, but look now, it looks like a river with a very large size,but that's not the only problem, this land erosion caused a lot of losses for local residents, there are several houses that have been lost due to flooding and some of them are still seen standing right on the edge of the cliff.

After seeing this scene, I immediately approached one of the residents to get the answer. According to the resident's confession, when the big flood came, the scene was very terrifying, the roar of the water was also unimaginable. Several residents who realized that their house was on the edge of the river immediately ran to a safe place,a terrifying scene could also be seen when the land on the edge of the river collapsed, which looked like leaves being carried by the water, but fortunately there were no fatalities at all during the incident.

Oh yes, this is a view that I took from the top of the bridge in Jamur Ujung village, Wih Pesam District, Bener Meriah Regency.

After getting this information, I immediately decided to continue my journey. After traveling for about 30 minutes, I finally arrived around the center of Takengon.

As usual, the first thing I did when I arrived in Takengon city was to immediately look for a food stall, the reason was not only because I was hungry, but because I really like the taste of typical Gayo cuisine which has a fresh sour-spicy taste and the use of strong spices. After eating and resting, I immediately decided to go around the city, I was happy to see many differences from each region and gave me a lot of experience and meaning of a difference to complement each other.

Takengon is a city which is also often called the city of a thousand tourist attractions,in this city we can find many tourist destinations from the city center to remote villages.

One of them is the Lukup Badak Riverside tourist destination located in Lukup Badak village, Pegasing District, Aceh Tengah Regency, this place is very famous because it has various facilities, but the most interesting is the white water rafting facility which is also quite famous in Takengon city, anyone can visit this place, if you want a quiet time then you should visit it on weekdays, but if you like crowds then you can visit it on big days.
