What defines who we are is the choices we make, the way we interact with others, and the way we treat them. To say that we don't care about how others think about us is stupid, and to treat others like they don't matter? This is the worst of it all.

Growing up, one thing I so wanted to become was an officer in the Army, i loved the Army so much that I wanted to join the Army as soon as I was done with my education. I would try to study at the Nigerian military school and even the Nigerian Defence Academy but my dad won't let me, it was not what he wanted for me. After my college education, I applied to join through the short service course but I was also not a successful candidate at the time. All I wanted was to serve my country as the best sniper in the army and I had my mind to it. That dream has been dead a long while and I have buried it dead inside the ground.

If there is a war in my country the thing I will do is to secure the safety of my family before thinking of any other thing, family comes first, that is how I was raised, and it is our responsibility to take care of loved ones and family, others will always come second. Having to fight for my nation will only be because I want to fight for the peace of my surroundings and not for my nation.

People are so cruel and wicked these days that they do what pleases them and will refuse to take responsibility for their actions. Let me, the person or group of individuals who have instigated the war, be tied up and handed over to the other side for the peace of the majority, there is never a need to go to war, and when you choose to go to war, everyone should be against you. This will shift the debt of war from the innocent to the shoulders of those who instigated it.

War is a result of a failure to communicate or a failed communication, communication should be valued more than the act of war itself during a misunderstanding, which will cause suffering for those who have no say in the decision.

Dialogues are important tools of peace and everyone should learn to Dialogue, when Dialogue fails, maybe the other option of war can then be explored.

War is a selfish act, the people in power decide to go to war knowing they won't be in the forefront of the action, if it were in the days when kings charged into war, I would go to war happily beside my king knowing fully well that he has put in an equal amount of effort as I. Gratifying the act of war by fighting for my country is where you may not find me. I will rather fight to protect my family and loved ones than to be caught fighting for a set of people that feel I am less human in comparison to them as well as their family.

There is always a place that is safest during wars, I believe that taking my family to an area with less density will keep them safe during any war. Back then, what usually happened during a war was that our people, the old, women and children used to be hidden in a mountain, this mountain was called "Pa" in my tribe. Even when the enemy passes through the area, so long as they are not indigenes of the area, they will not sight the mountain. A place like that will be my safest bet for my family and loved ones, we will hide out until the war is over, because I don't believe that any war or anyone's ambition is worth the lives of myself and my loved ones.
