Winners of Sketchquest February 2nd Run
Hey Draw a Day community and friends
It’s finally time to celebrate the talent from our late February SketchQuest contest run. I sincerely apologize for the long wait in getting these results out to you all. I was caught between offline responsibilities and some technical hurdles with our platform where images simply are not loading correctly for me to review so I have been stuck and held off judging. Thank you so much for your patience while I waited for that small hiccup to settle so I could finally give these amazing entries the attention they deserve.
Here are the winners:
All 4 entries have been received and evaluated based on Creativity (40%), Inspiration Story (30%), and Effort (30%).
1st Place: @jadung — The Rescuer

- A beautiful mix of heartfelt storytelling and technical experimentation with line drawing.
- Creativity (40%): High. Successfully used varying line thickness to create a less digital and more human feel.
- Inspiration Story (30%): Excellent. Turning an observed act of kindness into a clean and flat piece is very effective.
- Effort (30%): Strong. Stepping away from a regular style to master a new tool (PenUp) shows great dedication.
Prize: 2 HIVE
2nd Place: @beebow — Bunny Magic
- A fantastic example of creative transformation and spontaneity.
- Creativity (40%): High. The leap from an abstract red shape to a cozy, oversized bunny hat is exactly what this challenge is about.
- Inspiration Story (30%): Strong. Captures a fun, inventive vibe by letting a single shape lead the entire character design.
- Effort (30%): Good. The bold lines and bright colors create a very clean, professionallooking doodle.
Prize: 1 HIVE
3rd Place: @pepijin — Silent Walk
- A moody, dramatic composition that proves how powerful blank space can be.
- Creativity (40%): Strong. Using a total black fill to change the mood from "meh" to dramatic shows great artistic intuition.
- Inspiration Story (30%): Strong. The narrative of a walk where no words are needed is felt deeply in the character expressions.
- Eff effort (30%): Good. The intentional use of loose lines and high-contrast ink work shows a clear style.
Prize: 1 HIVE
Participant Shoutout:
@london65: Your "Starry Friend" revisit was so honest and gentle. It’s wonderful to see you back and letting your creativity breathe through those beautiful textural clouds.
Prize: 1 HIVE
I am also working to finish judging the entries for the Sketchquest March run hopefully I can make that post in a few days. So keep sketching and telling your stories. Thank you all for your support and participation and making another round of this contest a success. I will be sending the prizes in a while
Until next time. Hive On
