Hi Guys!
The next day we had in plans to visit very large salt mine Salina Turda - which was the best and most interesting spots during whole journey (for me)...

Here's a photo gallery from the incredible salt mine we visited in Romania – Salina Turda. The true scale of this place can't be captured in photos – there's no way to show this seemingly enclosed yet massive space.
If you look closely, you'll see tiny dots in the photos – those are people 🙂.

The sheer size of this place is evident in the fact that the main hall houses various attractions, such as basketball courts, ping-pong tables, children's playgrounds, a souvenir shop, and outdoor gyms. There's also a closed exhibition area, an amphitheater with an auditorium, and in the middle stands a rather large Ferris wheel – a kind of vertical carousel 😉... And a few more interesting facts I forgot. In the lower hall, in the middle of the lake, there are interesting installations, as you can see in the photos – these are various wooden structures where you can sit on benches and inhale the healing salt vapors... a natural, huge graduation tower.
The main hall is 90 meters high. This salt mine differs from our polish Wieliczka salt mine in that, among other things, the vast underground workings are open to visitors, rather than a network of tunnels – although there are plenty of those too.

Interesting facts: The first mention of the mine dates back to 1271, and the average thickness of the salt deposits here was 250 meters. In 2017, the mine was visited by 618,000 tourists, 35% of whom were foreigners – so there's no shortage of people there 😉.
Between 2008 and 2010, the mine was fully adapted for tourism, museum, and therapeutic purposes – one giant salt graduation tower that you can feel in your lungs and sinuses. This place made a truly powerful impression on us.

Hope You liked the gallery - this place is really worth visiting if You ever visit Romania! But be prepared to meet a lot of people there - and try to book Your tickets in advance!
Thanks for watching and reading!
Until the Next One!
