I’m always struck by the enormous commitment shown by the authorities and the city council to keeping the city centre and its public spaces looking so beautiful. The tidiness, cleanliness and their presence are very evident, which is why I believe this tribute to those people is necessary. The monument looks beautiful. And they don’t just maintain the city centre, but also the riverfront and all those wonderful green spaces. On the other hand, that magical house really is just that; I love that the little ones can learn so much about the local flora and fauna in that way, and that art is always present.

It certainly bears a strong resemblance to traditional mandalas, and it’s an unusual style to see in a mural, given how difficult it can be to create these repetitive geometric shapes with such precision on that scale. But it does indeed beautify that tiny space, which would otherwise be just a blank wall in a corner of the city.

I remember what you said to me last time, when you mentioned you’d talk about this, and to be honest I was keen to find out, as people in your situation find peace and calm to cope with all this in different ways. Some find it in religion, others in their family, and others in an inner strength. Whatever one’s beliefs, the important thing is to find that strength, that which gives you the courage to carry on, to keep fighting along the way. You’ve managed it, and I remember when you told us about your illness and how advanced it was, and yet you’re still carrying on today. I want to highlight something you said: a doctor told you to act as if you had nothing wrong with you. That’s the key, because if you focus on it, it grows and grows; it’s as if he were telling you that whatever you focus your attention on grows stronger, and what you must do is take your attention away from it, whilst continuing with the treatment. I’m sending you all my positive energy, all the high vibrations, and I can only picture you healthy, very healthy, and enjoying time with your beautiful daughter.

It’s lovely that at that age they’re already learning about the different art materials, such as paints and ways of drawing, as well as how these elements relate to one another. As you mention, each child will eventually discover their own talents and preferences when it comes to these artistic media. I really like the graphite still life; it shows great talent. Art in children awakens a unique creativity and also a form of self-expression that can help them in life. They look very enthusiastic and focused on the task, a sign that the teacher is doing a great job with them.

It really is beautiful. I’d definitely use it myself on a small bag or as an accessory to clip onto my belt or hang from my gear. Although if I kept it on my keychain, I’d probably break it—I’m such a klutz. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a real beauty!

My dear friend! You're absolutely sweeping it with your song choices. This song is perfect for this year's Hive Open Mic theme, and your way of expressing it feels so warm and soulful. Thanks again for being here; I love seeing you and hearing you sing.
