Is Engagement Required Before Baptism?//The Old Path.
Engagement and baptism are two different things. Engagement should not hinder baptism because there is no connection between them. Baptism is a call to divinity while engagement is the call of the flesh, so in as much as God ordained marriage between man and woman, it should not affect our spiritual life by staying without being baptized until we are engaged.

Baptism according to the bible is based on faith, repentance, and obedience to God not on one's relationship status. Whether a man or a woman is engaged, singe, or married it does not determine their willingness to be baptized, what truly matters is a decision to turn away from sin and follow God wholeheartedly. Acts 2:38 says:
Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
This bible verse teaches us that repentance and willingness to serve God are the requirements for baptism and not engagement. As christians, let's not delay our baptism because of desire of the flesh and traditions. What God is concern about is a transformed heart and not a commitment to live a righteous life.
