Good evening, blog friends, and happy Sunday! Here's how my Sunday went. It was a pleasant and peaceful day blessed by the beautiful weather. I saw the sun as soon as I woke up, and I was delighted. I cooked stewed cabbage (you can find the recipe on my blog), and then my husband and I decided to get out of the house for a bit. First, we went to a pizzeria to buy some slices of pizza by the slice for a snack. We found this pizzeria in the city center with lots of delicious pizzas; we should go back to get more for lunch, dinner, or another snack. Then we decided to take a stroll through the center of Pistoia. A while ago, they had started work on one of the oldest squares in Pistoia, Piazza San Lorenzo. I had visited it when it was almost finished but not yet complete. Today, however, I was able to see it finished, and it was beautiful. The square is much more beautiful now, surrounded by old buildings and an ancient oratory and convent. Until it was completed, I wasn't convinced, but now I love it. It's very spacious, and all that space enhances the historic buildings around it. The trees surrounding the square are very beautiful, and once they're fully grown, they'll surely be beautiful and provide more shade, which is needed in the summer. It's a square I think I'll gladly return to and where I'll be happy to stop when I return to Pistoia.

Buenas noches, amigos del blog, ¡y feliz domingo! Así fue mi domingo. Fue un día agradable y tranquilo, bendecido por un clima hermoso. Vi el sol en cuanto me desperté y me alegré muchísimo. Cociné repollo guisado (pueden encontrar la receta en mi blog) y luego mi esposo y yo decidimos salir un rato. Primero, fuimos a una pizzería a comprar unas porciones de pizza para picar. Encontramos esta pizzería en el centro de la ciudad con muchas pizzas deliciosas; deberíamos volver a comprar más para el almuerzo, la cena o para otro tentempié. Luego decidimos dar un paseo por el centro de Pistoia. Hace un tiempo, comenzaron las obras en una de las plazas más antiguas de Pistoia, la Piazza San Lorenzo. La visité cuando estaba casi terminada, pero aún no completa. Hoy, sin embargo, pude verla terminada y era preciosa. La plaza es mucho más bonita ahora, rodeada de edificios antiguos y un antiguo oratorio y convento. Hasta que no estuvo terminada, no me convencía, pero ahora me encanta. Es muy espaciosa, y todo ese espacio realza los edificios históricos que la rodean. Los árboles que rodean la plaza son preciosos, y cuando crezcan del todo, sin duda serán aún más hermosos y proporcionarán más sombra, algo muy necesario en verano. This evening, when we got home, we didn't feel like cooking anything complicated, so I cooked three cutlets (I love cutlets, I'd eat them often, but unfortunately, they're not very healthy!) and then I cooked some simple cannellini beans with herbs (I added thyme, chives, and chopped onion to flavor the dish). I also really like beans, both as a side dish and as a condiment for other dishes, especially in soups! It was a simple but delicious dinner, and now I'm enjoying the company of my cats on the couch, or rather my two cats who stare at me with funny faces from the other side of the couch, while I watch a TV series (the third season of The Handmaid's Tale, I love this series, I'm literally devouring it). Esta noche, al llegar a casa, no nos apetecía cocinar nada complicado, así que preparé tres chuletas (¡me encantan las chuletas, las comería a menudo, pero por desgracia, no son muy saludables!) y luego unas sencillas alubias blancas con hierbas (les añadí tomillo, cebollino y cebolla picada para darles sabor). ¡Me encantan las alubias, tanto de guarnición como de condimento para otros platos, sobre todo en sopas!
