A stroll around the Faculty of Engineering. | Un paseo por la facultad de Ingeniería.

Saludos maravillosos reciban todos mis queridos amigos de esta hermosa comunidad de Lifestyle hoy quiero mostarles mi recientw visita a la facultad de ingeniería de la Universidad del Zulia.

Warm greetings to all my dear friends in this wonderful Lifestyle community. Today I’d like to share with you my recent visit to the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Zulia.

La facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad la cual tuve el gusto de visitarla y me hizo recordar aquellos momentos vividos en mi etapa como universitaria puesto que a este lugar ibamos al comedor cuando el de ciencias fue removido por completo, en 2024 daban una comida muy deliciosa en dicho espacio, no obstante estaba también junto con mi amiga Grace atravesamos esta facultad para ir a la casa dental inzumos la cual quedaba cerca de la facultad hacer pequeñas compras o simplemente a mirar, esta facultad narra historias puesto que se dice que los de estas facultad eran los más temidos para hacer guarimbas en nuestra querida universidad no le tenian miedo a nada.

The University’s Faculty of Engineering, which I had the pleasure of visiting, brought back memories of my time as a university student, as this is where we used to go for meals when the Science Faculty canteen was completely closed down; in 2024, they served a delicious meal there, However, my friend Grace and I would also walk through this faculty to go to the dental supplies shop, which was near the faculty, to do a bit of shopping or just have a look around. This faculty tells stories, as it is said that the students from this faculty were the most feared for causing disturbances at our beloved university; they were afraid of nothing.

Caminando por las distintas áreas de estas facultad, me pude dar cuenta que la misma carece de mucho mantenimiento, ya que los arbusos y las jardineras se encuentran bastante llenas de hojas secas, así como también el trabajo de mantenimiento se ve que no es de manera frecuente a pesar de que en este, lugar existan muchas escuelas de la ingeniería, como ingeniería mecánica, ingeniería civil, ingeniería industrial, ingeniería geodésica, en petróleo, química, entre otras más está en la actualidad esta en muy mal estado incluso el comedor ya no funciona la mayoría de los estudiantes estudian en la escuela de ingeniería en petróleo, ya que está en el estado en el que nos encontramos, posee más oportunidades de trabajo, incluso la oferta del trabajo es mucho más frutífera que de las otras, pero sin embargo, estas carreras en sus distintas áreas tiende a ser bastante rentable.

Walking through the various areas of this faculty, I realised that it is in a state of serious neglect, as the bushes and flowerbeds are quite full of dry leaves; furthermore, it is clear that maintenance work is not carried out regularly, despite the fact that this site is home to many engineering schools, such as mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, geodesic engineering, petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, amongst others. It is currently in a very poor state; even the canteen is no longer in use. Most students study at the school of petroleum engineering, as, given the current situation, it offers more job opportunities; indeed, the job market is much more promising than in the other fields. Nevertheless, these degree programmes in their various specialisms tend to be quite lucrative.

Llegamos hasta la escuela de ingeniería en petróleo, y podemos percatarnos de que se encontraba un perforador petrolero de estos que se encargan de poder sacar el petróleo, desde el interior, entonces se encuentran distribuidos generalmente con mayor frecuencia en la costa oriental del lago y en la zona sur del estado Zulia debido a la gran producción petrolera, que hay durante este momento que estaba caminando con mi hermano al cides. Me encontré a mi amigo de toda la vida Luis Arturo, el cual esta en el último semestre de ingeniería de petróleo y este se estaba inscribiendo ya prontamente al finalizar el año se estará recibiendo de ingeniero.

We arrived at the petroleum engineering school, and we could see that there was one of those oil drilling rigs used to extract oil from underground; they are generally found more frequently on the eastern shore of the lake and in the southern part of Zulia state due to the high level of oil production there at the time, whilst I was walking with my brother to Cides. I bumped into my lifelong friend Luis Arturo, who is in his final semester of petroleum engineering and was in the process of enrolling; by the end of the year he will be graduating as an engineer.

Ingresando a otra área esta estaba poblada mayormente de estudiantes y persomal algunos se encontraba formalizando su proceso de inscripción, está área si estaba bastante cuidada y en excelente manteniendo incluyendo sus pasillos, también pequeñas plazas e incluso en este punto se observa una linda arquitectura del lugar, que bueno que realmente nuestra alma mater la Universidad del Zulia se observa que nuevamente ha vueto a tomar bastante vida de nuevo, ya los jóvenes están apostando a la educación en nuestro país lo que resulta bastante fantástico sin duda alguna.

Moving on to another area, this one was mainly filled with students and staff; some were in the process of completing their enrolment. This area was very well maintained and in excellent condition, including its corridors, small courtyards and even the beautiful architecture of the building. It’s wonderful to see that our alma mater, the University of Zulia, has really come back to life once again, and young people are now investing in education in our country, which is undoubtedly fantastic.

Por último fue un agradable paseo el que experimenta por esta facultad de ingeniería, luego salí de ella y tomé el bus de milagro norte, el cual me condujo hasta el centro de Maracaibo, para finalmente poder agarrar otro carrito hacia las zonas sures de donde residuo y llegué a mi casa sin, mayor problemas, pero sí bastante roja y acalorada, ya que el sol era bastante fuerte, a pesar de que después del recorrido, apareció el tiempo de lluvia y se nubló bastante, es bonito saber que la Universidad del Zulia y más en esta área de la ingeniería sigue tomando fuerzas me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad mis queridos amigos.

All in all, it was a pleasant stroll around the engineering faculty; I then left and caught the ‘Milagro Norte’ bus, which took me into the centre of Maracaibo, where I was finally able to catch another minibus to the southern areas where I live, and I got home without any major problems, though I was quite flushed and hot, as the sun was quite strong, even though after the walk, it started to rain and became quite cloudy. It’s nice to know that the University of Zulia, and particularly in this field of engineering, continues to grow in strength. I bid you farewell until next time, my dear friends.
