Monomad: Urban Style in Battles [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

If there’s one urban scene I enjoy capturing in my photos, it’s freestyle battles, whether because of the setting itself or the way each participant dresses, as they almost always wear baggy clothes, which gives that urban vibe I love to capture. Today, I’m sharing some photos in that style.

Si hay algo urbano que disfruto capturar en las fotografías, son las batallas de freestyle, ya sea por el mismo entorno o por la vestimenta de cada participante, quienes casi siempre van con ropa ancha, y esto da ese toque urbano que me gusta capturar y hoy les comparto algunas fotografías con ese estilo.

In addition to focusing on what I mentioned earlier, you can also take into account the euphoria that’s felt at these kinds of competitions, which adds more of an urban vibe, and I think that’s something you can see in the portraits, so it’s always interesting to combine these two elements in my photos.

Además de centrarme en lo que mencionaba antes, también se puede tomar en cuenta la euforia que se vive en este tipo de competiciones, lo cual da más presencia a lo urbano y creo que es algo que se puede apreciar en los retratos, por lo que siempre es interesante juntar estos dos factores en mis fotografías.

Since the competitions usually take place in the afternoon, there’s a certain moment when the sun is in just the right spot to light up the venue, and this allows me to achieve excellent contrast in the final result with black and white photographs.

Como las competencias normalmente suelen realizarse en la tarde, hay cierto momento donde el sol se encuentra en un buen lugar para iluminar el sitio y esto me permite tener un excelente contraste para el resultado final con las fotografías en blanco y negro.
