@LadiesofHive Community @ladiesofhive/ladies-of-hive-community-contest-283" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Contest #283 questions for the week are:
1οΈβ£ Self Care: We fall sick, we get well because we took care by taking medication, it's human. But we tend to overlook or under care when we are not sick, when we feel strong and healthy. So, here's the reminder question: How do you care for your body and mind when you are not sick? What is your everyday health care routine like? ~ πππ / ππ ~ 2οΈβ£ Hobby Crush: Most of us have hobbies we spend little or more time doing, but there are hobbies we admire others do. What is that one hobby you wish you could do for fun, too, and why can't you adopt it for your free time?
That's a fact that a lot of people only care about themselves when they are unwell and the moment, they get well then again, they go back to a absent minded life. Sadly, in my life I have always had sick people around me, and have been taking care of them. They have been my very dear ones so I cannot even shy away from taking care of them, but looking at them I always feel motivated to take care of my self all the time.
I do not wish an ailing old age or the one where I am dependent on anyone. I want to be healthy, active and mobile for as long as I live. But it does not happen overnight. It's about how you have taken care of yourself all your life it will give you results in old age. My daily routines of my self-care on my fitness and keeping my muscles strong are doing Yoga, meditation, walking 3k to 5K steps daily. Besides this, I follow a healthy and balanced diet through the week. Over the week I indulge in some junk food but that too with mindfulness.
Twice a year I do a full health check-up and then based on the results, I add up vitamin and mineral supplements into my daily diet. I like to drink alcohol so I have a glass of red wine once a week. It's not that I do not indulge in any unhealthy foods and drinks, I do but keeping everything in control and also ensuring to minimize the impact of it on my health. I spend time in nature and doing things I love and enjoy, all of this keeps me in a positive state of mind. I enjoy travelling so even over the weekends I do short travels even if it is for a day, it makes me feel good mentally and emotionally.
Wellness is not a day's job it is a daily job and the most important one. To be practical, every single day it's not possible to follow a healthy routine but it can be balanced out with 1 or 2 cheat days in a week and then following up with some measures that will take care of the junk. Like Friday and Saturday are my cheat days and then Sunday is my fasting day. Balance is important. If I try to be too stringent then it is possible that I will end up doing more wrong things and not taking care of myself.
