Flower Close Ups Carolina Rose

They are called Carolina Roses; to me, they look somewhat like the types of things I would expect to see on an alien planet, at least the structures in the center do. They feature five delicate light pink petals that surround a yellow center filled with stamens. Quite fragrant, they also provide nectar and pollen for various pollinators. Eventually the blooms will transform into scarlet marble-sized fruits known as rose hips that typically remain on the plant through the warm seasons.
