OpenPods, Music, and a Bit of Chaos
Credit where credit is due. It was @xvlad who said to me that it would be cool to have a radio on SkateHive, and that Snapie Hangouts—aka OpenPods—would be a great way to make it happen. With that idea in mind, and with my Claude subscription having ended, I began the little mission.

I must admit, one gets spoiled with Claude. It probably would have taken me a lot less time. But then again, Qwen is not bad for something with a generous free tier. All in all, it took two days of playing, testing, and cursing—and there it was: I have a little radio happening.
So what’s the plan, I hear you say? Short term: just play around with it. Share some cool music with people who want to hang out for a minute in an audio room. But the possibilities are pretty amazing.

Imagine, if you will, users acting like would-be DJs too. A console where they can control the bot, share songs with friends, create playlists, etc. One could have a Hive News Radio, or maybe even have the Hive Thrive shows playing as well. We’ve amassed quite a collection too, so there’s that.
At any rate, the limit is the imagination. It’s hard to hide my excitement with this new feature—more so because I know lots of people will have fun with it too.
