Book review: The housemaid by Freida Mcfadden
Mystery, scandal, and a plot twist in my opinion, the perfect kind of fiction. If you're trying to get into reading fiction, I would definitely recommend this book. With only 329 pages, it’s not very long and can easily be finished in a day or two, depending on how much time you have.
It’s fast-paced, easy to read, and has some questionable moments that keep things interesting. I went into the story blindly, which made the plot twist even more surprising. The story also switches perspectives midway through, which I think was a good way to see how everything really played out.

! [Click to reveal] One criticism I do have is that the ending felt a bit predictable. The way he was dealt with, and how everything was resolved, felt a little too convenient and not as impactful as the rest of the story. It took away some of the tension that had been built up earlier on.
Star rating ⭐⭐⭐
I’d give this a 3-star rating not because it’s bad, but because it feels more like a good, entertaining read than a truly memorable one. It keeps you hooked while you’re reading, but once you’re done, it doesn’t leave a lasting impact. Some parts feel a bit unrealistic, and a few moments rely more on shock value than depth.
