Broke But Intentional: A Corper's Diary.

Inflation is something we all feel, and I believe as a Nigerian you will be able to relate more. Judging from how costly things are at the moment. Even still, I'm really trying to manage myself and my income. I've been stumbling on a particular post for the past few days now that reads, "No amount of low spending will save you, if the money/income ain't constant or increasing, you will still go broke. Lmao."

And in all honesty, it's true. No matter how you try to cut your coat even less than your size you will still go broke at the end of the day.

Even still, I've tried my best to be careful with the way I spend, which does not mean I still don't go broke 🤣, but it's been helping. At the moment, I'm a serving corp member, but then the money coming in from there will stop in few months time, as I will be done serving soon. And that reality alone has made me way more intentional with my spending.

So, with my current income, what I do is to focus on my needs, every other unnecessary spendings can find their way to another person, not me. Also I'm not fully dependent on that stipend/salary we are being paid as Corp members. I also make frames and do certain customized items, and that as well brings in some extra cash, though not much because I'm serving in a different state, so it's not easy taking jobs from a distance, and the ones that I take too aren't so profitable because somebody else is doing the work for me. Also, I sell kitchen utensils and wears too. I do that online not as if I have a physical store.

That's what I do. But a lot of times when I'm broke I often run to hive, which I will be doing very soon again 😉. Hive has been a very very strong support system for me, via the various things that I do and post on hive, I've been able to connect with people, post content and earn from it.

And when it comes to saving, I've been doing the little I can. Even though it's way beyond what I planned too, still I'm doing little. And I just have to keep it up, because life after service is... huhm. I trust God to help lines fall in pleasant for me though. And since I ain't the type to request help from people, I have to keep going and do all that I can to survive and keep going.
