My Actifit Report Card: April 11 2026

Hey Actifitters,
Just like Le Chat and Kaia on the cover picture, the plan for yesterday was to chill and take it easy. As expected I didn't go for that 10k race I had registered a long time ago. It was probably the right decision because after sleeping in till very late, I felt much better than the night before. It's too bad though because the conditions were good for a run: sunny and just about one degree above freezing. Well, next time! So after that late start, we kept it slow at first, just hanging out in the yard.

At first, Kaia wanted Le Chat to play or at least explore with her.

But Le Chat's laziness is strong and Kaia gave up.

It's rare for them to stay still together for that long, but Le Chat with all her big yawns was convincing apparently.

But we can't do nothing the whole afternoon, so we started a short walk to the small forest behind the front yard.

Kaia got her energy back right away, nothing like a few jumps to enter the forest.

But I also wanted to be efficient, so we quickly walked deeper into the forest.

Soon, vegetation will start growing and cover the whole place, so it's nice we can still easily go through the whole forest right now.

Of course, after some time, Le Chat joined. I know it's kind of deja-vu, but it's just so cool to me to see them exploring the forest together.

And it's even cooler to see them competing in obstacles jumping. They both have their own technique, but it works well.

The main difference is Kaia usually has a lot more energy and she'll go back and forth, over that dead tree.

There's no jury, they both win and congratulate themselves...

As most days, especially when we don't have enpugh time to go to the bigger forest, we added some distance in the neighborhood. Perfect blue sky, not a single cloud!

In the evening, we had a dance show to attend at the Detroit Opera House, the Paul Taylor Dance Company. I probably say that every time, I prefer operas to dance shows, but once again it wasn't bad. A mix of different music and dance styles, a decent way to spend the evening. It was surprisingly empty though, not sure why. Maybe because it's one of the last shows of the season, and people are already getting ready for summer and outdoor activities.

And that was it for the day. As expected, slightly lower step count, but it was nice to take it easy for a bit. I really do need to start running again though. Let's see if I can do that this coming week.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
