Welcome to another Mantequilla-Soft Weekly Report!

Listen to the recording of the hangout:
Summary of updates by contributors:
@tibfox
@tibfox had a packed week with updates across several areas of 3Speak.
Audio Platform
The audio platform is now live for testing at https://3speak.okinoko.io/audio. This is Tibfox's implementation of the audio features, and we are waiting for @kesolink to finish his side so both can be merged into a unified experience.
Notification System
A brand new notification system has been added to 3Speak, visible at https://preview.3speak.tv/notifications. Users can now check all their notifications, not just for videos but for all Hive posts. A Hive post renderer was built to display post content directly in the notification view, and notifications are grouped by type for easier browsing.
ButterAuth (Working Name)
@tibfox is working on ButterAuth, a new authentication system that allows users to connect their Gmail account (and other providers) to their Hive account. This enables faster and more seamless logins. It is currently being tested on preview.3speak.tv and can be found at https://auth.okinoko.io/. The long term goal is to also offer Hive account creation via Gmail, lowering the barrier to entry for new users.
3Speak Pro Membership
Work has started on the 3Speak Pro membership system. As discussed in previous posts, this will allow users to access premium 3Speak services. A Magi Network contract will handle active subscriptions, tier management, and cost verification. The specific features, tiers, and pricing are still being defined.
Video Post Editing on 3Speak
@tibfox also built the ability to edit video descriptions, thumbnails, and tags directly on 3speak.tv after a video has been published. This feature still needs some polish, and @eddiespino will be testing it thoroughly and providing feedback.
@meno
Snapie (HiveSnaps) Updates
This week @meno focused on integrating Hangouts directly into the Snapie app and fixing a number of bugs. One of the key features discussed during the podcast was the account switcher, which lets users manage and switch between multiple Hive accounts within the app.
The broader vision is to make Snapie the easiest app to use on Hive, so that new users do not need to download other apps at all. As part of this, Snapie will support importing and securely storing the active key with the same encryption standards as Hive Keychain. This will unlock wallet functions and other operations that require the active key, all within Snapie itself.

VideoHunter Improvements
@meno also made improvements to VideoHunter, a miniservice that helps bring embedded videos into the 3Speak feeds. For example, this is what allows videos uploaded from Ecency to appear on the 3Speak web app. The updates improve how embedded content is detected and integrated.

ManteCurated Live: Curation Quality Score (CQS)
@eddiespino implemented a Curation Quality Score (CQS) system on the ManteCurated Live dashboard. The original concept came from @meno, and Eddie handled the full integration, iteration, and bug fixing across 8 major revisions based on real world testing.
The CQS evaluates Hive curators on a 1 to 10 scale across three dimensions:
Breadth measures how many different authors a curator votes for, encouraging diversity up to 50 unique creators. Distribution uses the Gini coefficient to measure how equally vote weight is spread across those authors, penalizing concentrated voting where most weight goes to just one or two accounts. Anti-Self measures how much a curator avoids self-voting.
The final score uses a geometric mean of all three dimensions, which means a curator cannot compensate for a terrible score in one area by excelling in another. For example, an account voting 175 unique authors but giving 83% of its weight to just 2 of them will score a 6, not a 9.
The dashboard also got performance improvements with a smart batching algorithm that fetches up to 20,000 blockchain operations across 7 days, with early exit optimization and single pass filtering. Bug fixes included correcting vote pagination, filtering out downvotes from the CQS calculation and the Top Authors chart, and handling edge cases like single-author voting.
The plan is to create a public API so other Hive frontends can access CQS data, and eventually build a ranking of the best and worst curators based on this quality score.
