Tarde de choco mocha en casa / An afternoon of mocha chocolate at home

Aunque reconozco que soy amante de ir a lugares pintorescos y sitios particulares a degustar de un buen café caliente, no siempre hay tiempo o recursos para hacerlo, inclusive, a pesar de mi espíritu aventurero, el cansancio y las energías no siempre apoyan estas salidas, por lo que disfrutar de un buen café en casa, es también, una opción válida.
Y como últimamente ha estado lloviendo mucho, en las tardes una bebida caliente que reconforte el alma mientras pasa la tormenta, es sin lugar a dudas un excelente plan para mi, inclusive estando sin compañía, pues el café es ese acompañante silencioso que responde lo que deseamos escuchar o nos reprime si vamos por el mal camino.
Me compré entonces un sobre de café instantáneo, que da para varias porciones, por lo que su precio es aceptable si lo vemos como una experiencia que podemos repetir en más de una ocasión sin necesidad de salir de casa. Los hay de diferentes sabores, pero aunque estaba insegura entre el cookies ´n cream y el choco mocha, yo elegí este último, pues ambos los he probado con anterioridad, y me gusta más el que trae chocolate.
Aproveché el tiempo previo a la hora de ir a buscar a mi hijo a la escuela, y calenté un poco de leche, pues aunque se puede hacer con solo agua, cuando se hace con leche, se realzan los sabores, y no es necesario agregar tanto de la mezcla para tener un café delicioso en poco tiempo. Lástima que no tengo un batidor de mano para hacerlo espumoso, pero para mi sorpresa, con un batidor de mano tuve un efecto similar al del café comprado en la calle.
Serví mi delicioso café en la taza térmica que le compré a mi hijo, quien decidió no usarla, por las figuritas que trae, pero que me viene de maravillas para conservar mi bebida caliente por mucho más tiempo sin necesidad de taparla. Aunque en este caso tuve que tomarla con cierta rapidez, pues me llegó el momento de salir a buscar a mi pequeño en el punto acordado.
Y aunque fue un poco atropellado como para disfrutar el momento al máximo, calentar el cuerpo a media tarde con un cafecito espumoso, fue reconfortante y me dio energía para terminar la jornada con buen ánimo.
Although I admit I love visiting picturesque spots and unique places to enjoy a nice hot coffee, I don’t always have the time or the means to do so; indeed, despite my adventurous spirit, tiredness and low energy levels don’t always lend themselves to such outings, so enjoying a good coffee at home is also a perfectly valid option.
And as it’s been raining a lot lately, a hot drink in the afternoons to warm the soul whilst the storm passes is undoubtedly an excellent plan for me, even when I’m on my own, as coffee is that silent companion that tells us what we want to hear or reined us in if we’re going down the wrong path.
So I bought a packet of instant coffee, which makes several servings, so the price is reasonable if we see it as an experience we can repeat on more than one occasion without having to leave the house. They come in different flavours, but although I was torn between cookies ’n’ cream and choco mocha, I chose the latter, as I’ve tried both before and I prefer the one with chocolate.
I made the most of the time before I had to go and pick up my son from school, and heated up some milk, because although you can make it with just water, using milk brings out the flavours, and you don’t need to add as much of the mixture to get a delicious coffee in no time. It’s a shame I don’t have a hand whisk to make it frothy, but to my surprise, using a hand whisk gave a similar effect to the coffee you buy on the high street.
I served my delicious coffee in the thermal mug I bought for my son, who decided not to use it because of the little figures on it, but which works a treat for me in keeping my drink hot for much longer without needing to cover it. Although in this case I had to drink it rather quickly, as it was time for me to head out to meet my little one at the agreed spot.
And although it was a bit rushed to enjoy the moment to the full, warming up in the middle of the afternoon with a frothy cup of coffee was comforting and gave me the energy to finish the day in good spirits.
