Hello, how are you? I've been eyeing foam clay for a long time now, and this is the time I am going to try it. I was so curious what the texture is like, is it literally a foam when dry, and to my surprise, indeed a foam.
I saw a lot of people enjoy using this, and I was curious for a long to I could not stop myself from ordering it, so now it came perfectly fine and ready to be used.
Unboxing Time!
I bought it for $1 with 36 foam clay.
It came with this cute plastic too, and came with individual air-tight plastic.
It is indeed lightweight. It is like kneading air, that's what it feels like LOL. And make sure to work fast because it dry too fast. I think I still not get use to it so I might like it in the future.
Materials I Used:
- Foam Clay
- Glass Sheet
- Acrylic Paints
- Clay Tool
Let's Try It!
My idea is to make a sunflower in a blue basket, so what I do is I condition the clay for about second by kneading it.
And then I shaped and added texture using my clay tool.
In the foam clay I bought, there is no dark brown, so I mixed this light orange with acrylic darker brown, and this is the result. Then I am gonna shape it as the base of the sunflower.
For the petals, I shape a yellow clay into a triangle shape and one by one I added those onto the base until all the free space is accommodated, and then I use my clay to add texture on the petals.
I do the same as the first one, then after that, I put above the blue basket I made before it dried.
And then for the leaves, I mix acrylic and foam clay, and the result turns into this green color.
And then I shape into a long leaf, and then I added it to the back of the sunflower just to creat and unqiue look to it.
This is what it looks like. I am telling I don't know if I am going to use this clay again, because the moment I put this down, just one blow of air, this thing is flying around my desk LOL, but worth the experience though.
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
