Hello, today, April 15, is World Art Day. I am going to show you what I drew today. I've been planning to draw Bangus, or Milk Fish, in English for a long time, but I always forget to do it. Yesterday I cooked Bangus, and I had the opportunity to take a photo of it for reference. I like it cut so that what I did.
I've been loving to draw different kinds of fruits and animals in oil pastels lately, so I might be drawing more in the future, so stay tuned for it.
Materials I Used:
- Oil Pastels
- Paper
- Scratching Tool
- Tissue
Craft Time!
I am going to start with drawing the reference using this dark gray oil pastel. As I always say, it doesn't have to be perfect. Just close enough is good.
At first, I like to experiment with the color I am going to use, blocking each color I am going to use or not.
Next is adding the dark shades, which are the shadows. It is important to know where your shadows are because if not, the drawing will look flatter, no matter what.
In this part, I am starting to add more dimension to the drawing by doing light to darker shades of color simultaneously.
Layering the drawing with white to blend the harsh contrast to the drawing.
Now adding shadows of the fish part.
Finalize with accent color to make it look more interesting.
To add texture and highlight at the same time. I am going to use my clay tool as my scratching tool.
Here is a close-up look at the texture I made. I just go with the flow with it.
Happy World Art Day!
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
I hope you are okay today :))
