I don't mind being tagged as an analogue guy. The days of CD, VCD, and DVD were better and golden when it comes to rating musical albums. You don't believe me?
Today, I came across a paper photo of the Game Over album by P-Square and couldn't stop reminiscing about the good old days when we got to know songs by originality and popularity, not this era of social media hype.
This album was released in 2007, and till today, whenever any track from this album comes on, the weight of good music is still intact. The album is evergreen, and it will keep being a hit even in 1,000 years to come.
I made a post on my WhatsApp status and I got lovely reactions...the post took a lot of people back to the lane of memories. The most shocking thing is that even the friends on my list who don't listen to secular music commented on how life was sweet in those days.
This one said she gave birth to her first baby the year the album was released ๐
This concurred that every single track here is a hit๐
This album, every track, is a hit. They are still hits, so there's no need to use "were."
There were times I was selecting and reselecting the one that appeared to me as the best track, but in the end, none, no single one, could be filtered out.
'Do Me' was the Christmas/New year party jamz for 2007 and 2008, which made a lot of us pick it as the best track in the album, but Ifunaya' or No One Like U' can't be rated any less, neither can 'Am I Still That Special Man?' In fact, all of them are perfect.
The videos of these songs were excellently done, and "Roll It" stole the show because of the dances displayed.
During that year, what we knew as "China phones" were trending, the type of phones mainly focused on multimedia, and that's how we enjoyed the songs, apart from the CD and VCD plates. In those days, we downloaded these songs using kilobytes, and none of them came close to megabytes like we have today.
Good old days.
Thanks for reading.
