DEALING WITH NEGATIVITY #284
If there is one thing people can not do, it is hurt me. A random person can not hurt me emotionally. And this isn’t out of pride, it is because I have trained myself to live above the hurt someone who does not know me can inflict on me. Even those who know me need to have a very good relationship with me before they can hurt me and I do this to protect my heart and emotions else those who do not deserve my time will end up flaring up my emotions and wasting my energy.

I believe in preserving my energy and not wasting it on those who do not deserve it. I remember one time I was at a friend's place and it turned out they were fighting and even though I wasn’t part of the argument or knew what caused it, someone came from nowhere to slap me. I wanted to retaliate with a fight, but on a second thought I reasoned that was the person’s plan all along. So I decided I would not be the one to satisfy their desire to fight, and thus I left. I saw the person looking disappointed because he was really looking for a fight, and that was enough satisfaction for me.
If I find myself in a public event, and so far the person does not get physically aggressive for me to try to defend myself, I will find ways to punish them back with constructive criticism. I would naturally start by faking ignorance and making them look like fools, then I will turn it all around to make them look like the real aggressors that they are. For me it’s a mind game, and since it is happening in public, I will ensure I do not give them the satisfaction of a win. I won’t be petty, just smart enough that they won’t know what hit them.
