Hey Everyone ๐๐ป
We have seen many cartoon series and movies where trees could talk. It's interesting to think about it that if trees could talk what stories would they tell us. Some of the trees have a very long lifespan. It could be possible that your father had sown a seed or planted a small plant which may still remain flourishing after your children are born. So trees are like grandparents who have seen many generations in front of them. If you have a tree in your backyard then it could be possible that the tree has seen your father playing around it like a child, then growing young, being more active and then growing older along with you again playing around it like a child as your father used to play.
These could be a living memories that has generations of memories with it. Not all trees survive this much. Some of the trees really have a long life from 100 to even 300 years.
If I talk about me then my grandmother still tells the stories of my father and aunt of how they used to play on the tree with its leaves, and branches, swinging on it by tying a rope around its branches. I used to laugh when she said that one day the branch broke and they fell on the ground. It didn't hurt because it was the soil all around. The same way I also used to swing in my childhood around those trees. It feels like it has seen all our family growing and has been the part of every new generation in our family.
So if trees could talk maybe they also had different stories. They might have fun stories of how children used to play around them falling and standing. They could have the exciting stories of how the people got happy and excited when they first saw the fruits growing on them. They could have the experience of being among the peoples. They could also have sad stories of how someone sitting under it sharing its problems, sitting alone and crying. They would have seen people struggling through their life, how they raise themselves. How the world around them changed over the years, how the weather changes and even how a single day changes.
Trees are the silent witness of the time. They don't speak anything but they are watching everything silently witnessing each passing day. They are witnessing the changing habits of humans, the changing area from farms to cities and roads, the change in outdoor games around them to indoor games, the speed of development, the cutting of other trees.
If trees could speak they would have shared some stories like there was time when there were multiple trees all around between the farms, when people used to sit under me with their groups, gossiping and planning, groups of children playing with branches, traveller finding the shade under me. When people used to care and love me, water me and in return I gave them more love in the form of wood for fire, fruits, shade, pure oxygen. I have seen the environment slowly around me with changing the people. One summer vacation there was no more happy kids around me playing. No more trees around me, no farms. People rarely sit under me. They have their own AC for cooling, own markets to buy fruits, own fuel to cook. The once buzzing environment is now silent around me. These are the stories of the time when everyone was close to me and seeing them I was also happy and dancing.
One of the oldest tree on the earth is Methuselah, a Great Basin bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva) in California's White Mountains, aged over 4,850 years (according to google). If the trees like it could talk then they would be sharing the centuries of stories with us.
