A Big Need That Goes Ignored

So do you guys remember when COVID was a thing?
The world went nuts. I remember going to a local store and toilet paper was nowhere to be found. We lost our minds. But there were some unsung heroes during that time.
Truckers.
The guys and gals that got supplies to people even when the world seemed to go down the drain. And here in Canada, instead of celebrating them, the government decides to make them the enemy. If you need a history lesson, check out the 'Freedom Convoy'.
And this isn't a political post at all, in fact it's faith based.
Because of that protest, I became a full time truck driver because I got inspired by the solidarity of people that kept the country moving, and stood up to obvious government overreach.
One thing led to another and I ended up getting a job with my church. And with this job I get to spread the gospel in my own unique way, while being on the road as a...Trucker.
And one of the things truckers have in their journey are truck stops. There's one I go to everytime I'm in Winnipeg Manitoba, where I am currently for this trip. And at the truck stop, there's a small little trailer in front of the building...
Every time I go by, it's closed because of the time of the day I arrive, however today it was open.
And I got to meet the chaplain of the ministry.
What a much needed project! And here's why....
Truckers spend the bulk of their time alone. They are away from family and loved ones for weeks, if not months on end. They sacrifice a lot to make sure the job is done.
Do you enjoy that food you are eating today? Thank a trucker!
And these men and women struggle with so much, so having a ministry like this is beyond a shadow of a doubt...Needed!
I got to touch base with the chaplain and spent the evening in bible study with him and some fellow truckers this evening and wow, what a blessing. They are inter-denominational, and don't have any doctrine being pushed to believers or would be believers, just Christ our Savior.
And that's something we can all use. Especially those of us on the road, away from our loved ones for weeks on end. It gets very lonely on the road, but like the popular saying goes...
As long as Jesus is your co-pilot, things are always looking up!
I plan on supporting this ministry as much as I can, and if you are interested in learning more, be sure to check out their website for more info.
