He does not immediately punish every wrong, but patiently gives time for repentance. They remain under the effect of their choices, and without repentance, they are separated from God’s full peace and security. They experience God’s patience, but His justice still stands and will be fulfilled in due time.
We receive true and lasting protection when we turn away from sin and draw near to God. We come under His care, guidance, and salvation when we choose to follow His will. We are invited into a relationship with Him where His protection is not temporary, but eternal.
