Hello Everyone!
Getting off track, Coffee or bust, The pesky foot injury, Nice days & Seedlings are popping up!
Alright, it has been a slog this evening trying to get myself to start writing... and I really do not have any excuse for it aside from intentionally slacking. Seriously though, I awoke from a nap with plenty of time to both do my late day chores and begin writing... but simply focused on other stuff instead.
Eventually, I did get all my late day chores done aside from fetching more water from the barrel at the old camp... which was not necessary... but something that I did want to do. I keep going back and forth about it with myself, over what has 'been up with me' the last few days... and all I can conclude is that I really need coffee in my life to keep me functional!
This evening I wound up scavenging through all my empty coffee bags and cans... until I scraped up just enough of the stuff to make some espresso. Since I did not really have enough 'new' coffee... I wound up using some of the old coffee grounds (from the stove-top espresso maker) and some powdered coco just to help fill in the basket on the maker.
Although I still have a lot of tea bags, I am really trying to avoid drinking tea because it keeps me up at night... and I wind up drinking a lot more of it than I do coffee... and thus wind up needing more drinking water than I usually do. When I made the last supply order I knew that I should have ordered more coffee... but between wanting to experiment with drinking tea and the crazy coffee prices I decided to wait.
Between the lack of coffee... and having to stay off my foot as much as possible for all these days... I am assuredly getting a wee bit stir crazy. The weird thing about the whole foot injury, is that I still have no clue exactly how it happened given all that I did was take a step that somehow did something rather traumatic to my foot.
At this point, it has all lead me to 'sitting around' too much... while doing stuff on the computer or (which I have been doing less of) 'doomscrolling' away on the phone. All that said, having recently figuring out what was wrong with my internet connectivity has been a really large boon for my morale... because doing stuff online is so much less of a hassle... and I am not wasting time on failed web page loads or stalled apps.
Anyways, the drought here has continued and the although the temperatures have been high... there has also been enough cloud cover to keep the days (and inside the studio) from feeling blistering hot. Aside from the lack of rain and all the limestone road dust billowing up (and around) from passing vehicles... it would be what I would call: A perfect time to be outdoors getting things done.
Early in the day I watered a few of the new seedlings and checked up on how everything is doing... and was super stoked to see that there are now way more little plants popping up than there was a few days ago. I tried to get a better look at what all was growing... but the bulk of the flower pots are on top of the chicken coop (and sans a ladder) I cannot see what is going on in the pots very well.
I have tried to scale up the side of the coop a few times... but my foot being in such dodgy shape makes it impossible to climb high enough to actually see what is what. Given that I gathered all the soil in those pots from the bottom of the gulch it has all sorts of seeds in it... so I know better than to get too excited just because I can see a bunch of greenery popping up.
Well, I do not have much else to report and am going to wrap this entry up. I hope that everyone is doing well. Ciao for now.
