Hello Everyone!
Adjusting routines, More hobbling around, Airing out a mattress, Pollen in the rainwater & Dry weather ahead!
Alright, I am on schedule with my writing routine again this evening... which makes for two days in a row now of doing that. To do so again, I pretty much did what I did yesterday by skipping taking a nap... and doing all my late day chores slightly earlier than when I usually do them.
I also did not have to make any espresso (for the nightly writing) because I still had plenty left over from making some a few hours before sunset. Although, I almost convinced myself to use some of the cheap black tea that I bought the other day... I know better than to start drinking that stuff in the evening!
Anyways, today was another day that was not very productive... even though... I did hobble around a good bit trying to get caught up on some of my routine chores that I have not been able to do lately. My foot did not give me too much trouble as I was doing stuff... but there were several times when I 'stepped wrong' on it... and the pain was instantaneous but thankfully not as overwhelming as it has been on previous days.
The most challenging thing that I had to do was lug the dog mattress down to the clothes line and drape it onto it... so that it could both dry out (and air out) in the sunshine. All of which was needed, because one of my old dogs has had something going on with her bladder of late... and keeps peeing the bed while she is sleeping.
I have been giving her some cranberry extract pills... and I started her on some of that same amoxicillin that I got for treating my own infections... which seems to be helping. The other thing that I have been doing is letting the dogs outside more often (so that she never has to hold it) which is big because they are already in the routine of going out a lot.
On a different note, I am a little bummed out that my foot injury kept me from bailing a bunch of rainwater from that barrel at the old camp... because now it has a ridiculous amount of pollen and leaves in it. There is also way more of those little flowers, that I previously mentioned falling from the trees when that late freeze hit several weeks ago.
Over the coming days, I am hoping to get all that water bailed out of the barrel... so that I can wash the barrel out and cover its top with some plastic until the next rainstorm arrives. I will probably wind up having to use a large amount of the water that is currently in the barrel to wash it out with... and then do the final rinse with some of the cleaner rainwater that I have stored elsewhere.
The weather forecast, is not calling for any rain in the immediate future... so the whole water scenario is going to require some careful management until it does rain. I will also need to be careful with how much water that I use on my gardening endeavors... but without rain I will definitely have to start watering stuff soon.
In related news, I am looking forward to the day when I am capable of walking around again, can continue getting more seeds planted... and continue on with some other projects. Finally having warm weather and not being able to actually use it... has been driving me a little stir crazy the last few days... but I know that it is best to let the injury fully heal before diving into doing a lot of physical activity again.
Well, I think that I am going to call this entry 'good enough' and get on with the editing and posting part of things. I hope that everyone is doing well. Ta ta for now.
