Friends I welcome every day with full energy. I wake up early and decided to be as much productive as possible. Besides household chores and stitching garments, I wanted to make lunch today. I don't usually cook food but whenever I do I do it with full heart.
Friends I belongs to traditional family and I know it's important to learn how to cook each kind of traditional dish for happy and comfortable life. That's why I decided to step into this sea and to make learning fun I am starting to share daily food dairies to keep record of my journey.
Actually I am not fully beginner to cooking although I know well how to cook. But I rarely cook food that's why it's common perceptions that I don't know how to cook.
Friends I decided to make my favorite dish Daal Tarka with comfy and simple boil Rice. Let me share the recipe and results with you :
Ingredients
- Chopped Onion
- Chopped Green Chili
- Chopped Garlic
- Red Chilli Paste
- Clarified Butter/Cooking Oil
- Salt
- Daal (Lentils)
- Coriander Leaves
- Cumin Seeds
- Turmeric Powder

Friends I was cooking lunch alone today because no one helped me. First of all I chopped all spices like **Onions, Green chilli, Garlic and Coriander Leaves. After chopping I make sure to wash chopped ingredients as well all utensils in use.
Friends I washed and soaked the lentils so it don't take much time in cooking.
This is turmeric powder.
This is salt that you can add according to your taste.
I used clarified butter aka Banaspati ghee you can use cooking oil

I'm cooking daal in cooking pan because we don't have pressure cooker. It really took me so much time and consume very costly LPG Gas ;(
I pour two bowl of water in the cooking pan and heat it on low flame. I added chopped onion, green chili, clarified butter red chilli paste gradually.
Friends this is special red chilli paste we make at home with red chilli powder, garlic and ginger paste. I will share about it some day.
I pour the soak daal (lentils) in to cooking pan along with turmeric powder and cover the pan.

I let it cook itself on low flame for 30 mins. Then I check how much more time it will take.
I added salt and coriander leaves. It was almost done in 30-35 mins
Friends this is the most special and my favorite part of cooking because I was going to add tarka in the daal.
I fried chopped garlic, cummin seed with half chopped green chili. When the garlic turn brown I added in into the cooking pan and cover it for 2 mins.
Friends this is the final look of my desi daal tarka. I don't want anyone else to help me today. I speak honestly I don't know how to make roti. So I quickly make simple boiled rice.
I have been seeing many food blogs on hive and I am inspired by the cooking skills of @nurfay I decided to be creative like dedicated chefs.

Friends to improve the presentation I serve desi daal tarka with rice in viral YouTube Style.

Friends I don't have good camera and fancy kitchen. I live in a one room house these days that room is also my kitchen. I hope you will like my efforts.
See you in another episode of My Food Diaries.
