I never really understood this untill I cross examined it with my childhood experience, when I was younger maybe I was holding a plate close to the sink and my mom is there let's say she's busy and I mistakenly asked her mom where should I drop this, her answer would be "come and drop it on my head" she wants you to drop it somewhere else but expects you to know better, that's exactly what reverse Psychology is.
Reverse Psychology is a method of trying to make someone do what you want by asking them to do the opposite and expecting them to disagree with you
reverse Psychology can be manipulative in relationships, where there is no genuine love between two people, but that's not what this is post is about ...
few days now due to the epileptic electricity situation in my country I've been going out often to power my gadgets at a betting shop that has steady power supply thanks to their installed solar system
as I go there often I realise the real meaning of what reverse Psychology is ....
so if you understand the way betting is, well in a nutshell it's like predicting the outcome of a future event which is based on probability, but to me that seems impossible because you really can't predict the outcome of a future event with certainty, altho based on some factors and parameters the outcome is predictable.
so while I spend time at this bet shop I try to observe the way of things, I have tried betting once and I suck at it, but then I feel this is more like a reverse Psychology thing but remodeled into a business version like to say ..."if you can say exactly what this game will be you will get this money"
in as much as betting can be fun and rewarding atimes the Psychological damage it can cause to any person whose so into it can be very much, because it keeps stucking you in till it runs you dry ...
conversing with someone at the shop yesterday we kinda dig a little bit into the Psychological side effect of these things, he told me of a man who just receives his salary of 200k and walks in and literally bet the whole 200k right there while his wife was at home trying to call him for what they need at home which he should buy while returning. .
that same yesterday while I was there a young man came in and for more than an hour stood there at the counter betting back to back...
here's where I'm driving at, no one can actually say how much they are going to spend betting but the system is designed such that they involuntarily keep spending even when they don't want to, if the loose again and again they will keep on betting hoping to recover all at once with a win and that's in order to redeem what's lost they keep pouring in money, this i see is a very strategic plan that has worked so well cause it's a system and a motive that is designed to capture the Psychology and to keep it locked in.
