Paintin somethin

After I painted these @hiddenblade/bed-rot-girlies" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">little studies, I liked them so much that I want to paint them on a bigger canvas. I've been putting off painting on canvas and spent so much time doing studies on my sketchbooks instead. I guess I really want to know what style I want and what I want them to look like instead of going back and forth with the process. Though I don't want to be enclosed with one style, it's important for me to know what I want to do at the moment because a bigger canvas is intimidating.

This was the study that I did and I am closely following the colors though I'm also not very strict about it. I'm thinking of painting them as a series. :D

The studies really helped me get back into painting because I haven't painted since 2022 I think. It's not easy for me to get back into something mainly because I forget lol, like I forget what my process even was like, what I like, how I did it, etc... Taking it easy with studies let me do what's really "natural" for me.
Which is this drippy drippy style that I really like haha. Aside from the obvious paintbrush strokes, I like the ones that has paint drips like this. For me it looks like freedom and letting go. :D

I'm layering my current painting now similar to how I did it before. I'm also pretty happy with my acrylic mediums because they allow me to do this without worrying about the integrity of the paint, which is crucial to the painting's longevity.
Looking "dirty", chaotic, careless, and free is my style I think.
