A Daily Word In French (#29)
Hello my fellow learners its been a while since I taught us something In French and I really do hope we haven’t forgotten all the lessons we have had in the past, at least one lesson should be vividly remembered.
Today’s word is ÉCOUTER and I want us to read attentively that way you will understand even without memorizing it. What does today’s word mean Écouter means to listen. 👂 we listen every day whether intentionally or not because hearing is similar to listening, just that hearing doesn’t take much of our attention and energy.
Right now my neighbor’s child is crying so loud from the next apartment that I can hear it vividly without listening or giving the child focus. This word is very important as communication is not only about speaking but also about listening and to me listening is more important than speaking because we need to listen or hear something to be able to respond, in fact, understanding often comes more from listening than talking. My present relationship has lasted the longest not because I am rich 🤑 but just because I became more of a listener than a talker, I give my woman more attention and more listening ears than I have ever done in other relationships and I have realized its a simple magic I should have just adopted all these years, well it is a lesson learned.
Pronunciation is like ay-koo-tay.
Read these few lines below to give you an idea on how to quickly conjugate the word to be used in sentences properly. If you memorize this it would be helpful for your daily French vocabulary.
J’écoute — I listen Tu écoutes — You listen Nous écoutons — We listen
These are examples: J’écoute la musique = I listen to music
Nous écoutons attentivement = We listen carefully
Attentivement means carefully. Thank you for stopping by and learning with me. Ecouter is a simple word but very powerful in everyday life.
Thank you for reading
