MORAL DECADENCE IS NOT FROM ONE SOURCE

Moral decadence is when there is a drop in ethical values, principles and social standards. People exhibit this nature due to failure brought upon them by their parents or their society at large. Basically, We cannot pinpoint the main source of moral decadence based on the fact that it can be a mixture of poor family up bringing in values, societal pressure or the influence of Peer Pressure and social media.

Truly, we can blame society, parents, social media, or those practicing it because it all falls back to these category of people at the end of the day. For The Society, moral decadence can come from their end as they allow some on ethical behavior to take place.

Recently, I was going through the internet and I saw a culture where it was allowed for young men to rape young girls because there is festival where young women are not supposed to come out of their homes. Hence when these ladies come out, men can do whatever they like with them. This is a high moral decadence because Society in this essence supports abuse against women.

Again, The blame for moral decadence can also be on the family because at one point they might have failed in instilling morals in their children. Back in the days, parents were not the only guardian of the children, it took a community to raise a child.

However, in our contemporary world reverse is the case because people do not want anybody to interfere in the upbreaking of their child. When a child does a wrong thing in school he or she is disciplined or flogged in the school but the parents elavates the issue and arrests the teacher. This is why many teachers do the best they can to avoid trouble.

Finally, it could also be an individual decisions to be wayward and engaging in unethical behaviors. While parents guidance and the society has done their best to shape an individual to the best of their ability, people still have what is called choice to either choose between good or bad.

In conclusion, I don't think moral decadence can be totally evacuated from existence but it can be managed it there is stronger parenting, value-based education, responsible media use, and personal responsibility. Change can begin from an individual who choosesintegrity,
