Some days the street demands haste… and some days it demands attention. This was one of those days when I decided to slow down, to take it easy, almost as if I were silently conversing with everything around me. I went out without much expectation, but with an idea in mind: to mix things up. Not to get stuck in just that wide-angle shot that shows everything at once, nor just in the isolated detail that almost no one notices. I wanted to move between these two worlds, like someone walking along the sidewalk looking sometimes at the horizon, sometimes at the ground.

Tem dias que a rua pede pressa… e tem dias que ela pede atenção. Esse foi um desses dias em que eu resolvi ir mais devagar, mais na miúda, quase como se estivesse conversando em silêncio com tudo ao meu redor, saí sem muita expectativa, mas com uma ideia na cabeça: misturar. não ficar preso só naquele clique aberto que mostra tudo de uma vez, nem só no detalhe isolado que quase ninguém repara. queria transitar entre esses dois mundos, como quem anda pela calçada olhando ora pro horizonte, ora pro chão.

There was a moment when my gaze lingered on gates… those gates we pass every day and never pay attention to, but when you get close, everything changes. Peeling paint, rust drawing random shapes, marks of time telling a story without needing a caption. That's when I started getting closer, closing the frame, almost as if I were invading that space just to better understand what it had to say.

teve momento que o olhar travou em portões… aqueles portões que a gente passa todo dia e nunca dá moral, mas quando você chega perto, muda tudo. tinta descascada, ferrugem desenhando formas aleatórias, marcas do tempo contando história sem precisar de legenda. foi aí que comecei a chegar mais perto, fechar o enquadramento, quase como se estivesse invadindo aquele espaço só pra entender melhor o que ele tinha pra dizer.

And amidst all this, the tree trunks also began to call out. Raw texture, full of lines, cracks, layers… it seemed that each tree there had lived through a thousand things and was just waiting for someone to stop and notice. In those moments, the click becomes more intimate, more silent. It's not about showing, it's about feeling.

e no meio disso, os troncos das árvores também começaram a chamar. textura bruta, cheia de linhas, rachaduras, camadas… parecia que cada árvore ali tinha vivido mil coisas e tava só esperando alguém parar pra reparar. nessas horas, o clique fica mais íntimo, mais silencioso. não é sobre mostrar, é sobre sentir.

But the street doesn't let you dwell on the details for long… it pulls you back in. When I looked up, there was that wider scene: people passing by, cars speeding by, shadows hitting the buildings, the usual organized chaos. Then the framing would widen too, as if I were taking a deep breath after immersing myself in the details.

mas a rua não deixa você ficar só no detalhe por muito tempo… ela te puxa de volta. quando eu levantava a cabeça, vinha aquele cenário mais aberto: gente passando, carro cortando, sombra batendo nos prédios, o caos organizado de sempre. aí o enquadramento abria também, como se eu estivesse respirando fundo depois de mergulhar nos detalhes.

It was in this back and forth that the journey gained meaning. Detail and setting, near and far, texture and movement. A constant exchange. It didn't seem like they were separate things, but rather parts of the same story, coexisting all the time; it just depends on where you decide to focus.

foi nesse vai e volta que o rolê ganhou sentido. detalhe e cenário, perto e longe, textura e movimento. uma troca constante. não parecia que eram coisas separadas, mas sim partes da mesma história, coexistindo o tempo todo, só depende de onde você decide mirar.

The craziest thing is that, even changing the way I framed the shot, the essence remained. The street doesn't get lost. It's in the wear and tear, in the improvisation, in the chance encounter. It's in the forgotten gate and in the hurried flow at the same time. And I think that's what struck me most that day: realizing that it doesn't matter if the frame is closed or open… if you're connected, the street will appear.

o mais louco é que, mesmo mudando o jeito de enquadrar, a essência continuava ali. a rua não se perde. ela tá no desgaste, no improviso, no acaso. tá no portão esquecido e no fluxo apressado ao mesmo tempo. e acho que foi isso que mais me pegou nesse dia: perceber que não importa se o frame tá fechado ou aberto… se você tá conectado, a rua vai aparecer.

In the end, I came back with the feeling that I hadn't just captured images, but layers. As if each photo were a different piece of the same walk. Some more intimate, almost whispered… others wider, screaming the rhythm of the city, and in the midst of it all, I was just there, trying to keep up.

no final, voltei com a sensação de que não registrei só imagens, mas camadas. como se cada foto fosse um pedaço diferente da mesma caminhada. umas mais íntimas, quase sussurradas… outras mais amplas, gritando o ritmo da cidade, e no meio disso tudo, eu só fui ali, tentando acompanhar.
