Rain, Recovery Day, House Cleaning, Utd Fail, The Dumpening, Heater Battle - Monday

Yay me, back to the 3:30am wake times again.... I end up on the couch for another hour before my shoulder tells me "no more" and I get up. I saw the deck had gotten moist over night and when I pulled up the doppler it showed me the mass moving off to the east. It did NOT show me the mass of inbound though.

It then was a morning of off and on rains that had some heavier periods but was pretty constant.

Life in a small house with too much stuff or just not enough places to put stuff is literally a shuffle game. My life has always been this, from growing up a child of pack rats to now with our small square footage house and 4 humans. If I want to clean it requires moving half the room to the side, cleaning, then moving everything to the other side. It is really twice the work and makes cleaning take much longer than it should...

With that in mind I have to wait for down days to allocate the time to spend on the shuffle. I had the PDC on for the morning while I worked on it and gradually got the floor of the main room of the house swept and cleaned. The dog sheds so damn much I collected a huge pile of hair and ended up with two overflowing dust pans of debris.

Thankfully I had the cleaning to keep me distracted from the abortion of a game that Utd "played". What a shit show against Leeds who is bottom of the table. AND AT HOME TOO!

Asshole Martinez pulled Calvin-Lewis's hair and got a red card. They managed a goal down a man but still lost like they should have given the worthless way they played.

The embroidery on this hat HAD TO GO. The hat itself is rather nice that @stryeyz got from a conference but it was an AI agent company name that I did NOT want to keep on it. So thanks to the seam ripper and tiny Fiskars scissors I got it all removed. I'm hoping the washer will help remove the marks by rustling the fabric around and closing the holes up.

2pm I was happy to see the sun come out but when I stepped out on the deck I could see a wall of black to the west.

Then by about 2:40 the next round hit and it went off!

The wall of water moving across the valley at the farm.

R got off the bus and made it in the house before the heaviest downpour hit.

Which was a sheer torrent for about 10 minutes and was like a roar as it pounded on the roof. Then as fast as it hit it moved off to the east. It spit at us off and on the next hour+.

The heater for the house was fighting me all day long and was refusing to kick on. I finally found that one of the wires/contacts was dirty and after mashing them around a bit got it to start on demand. It IS a 25+ year old heater so I should expect some issues occasionally. THANKFULLY I am able to troubleshoot it myself and not have to call someone every time the damn thing borks. I've saved us at least a $1k over the years working on it myself, with how much service calls cost. (I know as I charge similar for my calls now...)
J has track practices after school so I picked him up and got home shortly before @stryeyz.

Same wake time sequence today again... At least I got over 7 hrs this time. Boys to school in a while, PDC is on, Camino race will be on, I have my weekly session, then stop to work on hte timer for the water feature for my client, then a stop at the store for softener salt and sheetrock mud, it likely will rain more so probably get a trainer ride in.
